Provence 45-Piece Flatware Set, 18/10 Stainless Steel, Dual Mirror-Satin Finish, Service for 8, 5-piece placesetting plus 5 serving pieces

I got this set for my mother who was extremely happy with the stylish look, quality, weight per piece, sturdiness, and value (I was the one happy with the value). This is a very handsome flatware set that can be used on a daily basis or for special occasions. It is well worth the value and after seeing and using these I will be buying a set for my sister for Christmas. You won't be disappointed with the price, value, look, or feel. This is an excellent set and I'm glad I chose this particular service. I have no regrets in purchasing this set. Please be aware that although J A Henckels is a quality German company this set of flatware is manufactured in another country. Even so, the quality is NOT compromised and meets or exceeds Henckels standard of quality. UPDATE 11/25/2010 Due to a question I decided to update this since I forgot I had rated this set. I am still extremely happy with this purchase. Unlike another rater none of our flatware has scratches or rust. I tend to wonder what the other poster is cleaning with. Not one piece has bent either. One would have to purposely try and bend it with force or use it as a pry bar to open something. My mother's set is still flawless and still looks great. Our only bummer is someone threw away 2 spoons and that had nothing to do with Henckels. IMHO regardless of where this was manufactured the owner and I are still extremely happy with this set of flatware after 2 years of daily use. If these unhappy raters have bought from 3rd party vendors that could be the reason for their problem. (Buying knock offs.) Buy direct from Amazon LLC and you should get the real deal. Update 3/13/2013 This set is still going fine and all "remaining" items still look great. As my folks got older I think 2 or 3 pieces got thrown away accidentally over the years. Going on 5 years now with this great set!

I have owned this set and used it daily since 2016, and it looks as new as it did then. It's an absolutely wonderful set of silverware. The weight is perfect, it's durable, and it's elegant as well. My mother has the same set of 45 (also owned for at least 8 years), and I'm going to order the 45-piece set for my father now as well. These are great for daily use and entertaining. I also have a chef's knife by the same company, and it's made of excellent quality as well.

We had a set of stainless steel flatware purchased many years ago. It was ok, but plain and low quality. We decided to splurge and find a new, quality set made from 18/10 stainless steel (the best). Did our due diligence, read hundreds of tests and reviews, and purchased this Zwilling Provence as it also fit our budget. I would say, it is beautiful with a subdued, but elegant design, and polished to a mirror finish. The forks and spoons aren’t too skinny nor too fat. The knife handles are a little more robust and feel great in the hand. The knives are serrated, but be forewarned, they are sharp too! I can cut a steak without grabbing a steak knife. We hand wash, and air dry without any spots showing. We can’t find any imperfections. They may be at a casual dining price, but would look impressive on any formal dining table too! Included a pic of the Zwilling all set in the drawer.

We received this set as a wedding gift almost six years ago. We were both quite surprised at the quality and heft of the utensils, based on the price. I was familiar with the company but didn't expect flatware to feel substantial. That was then... this is five and a half years later. We both brought kids to the relationship and these kids, and at times, parents forget the odd spoon or fork, or take it with them, and forget to bring it back. While we need six settings normally, when you have a piece disappear here or there, it creates friction. We love the style and they have held up to our family's use very well! We saw the price here on Amazon for the same pattern we have at a VERY attractive price. We decided this was a smart purchase. For a family of six, sixteen of any utensil is better than 8 ever. Having the extra serving pieces will also come in handy for those times we have more to dish out, or just want an extra-large spoon or fork or butter knife to give to a son as a joke with his dinner! Trust me. If you need a decent set of flatware on a budget. This is the way to go!

Great weight and balance on every piece. The ratio of knife blade length to handle feels a little off. The table spoon also feels comically large. I really like the half polished half matte finish on the handles. Knives come super sharp as well. Knife and forks are very rigid and require a lot of force to even bend slightly. Overall excellent value and quality for the price.

This is a premium set. The weight is solid and the styling is unique. We have been looking for a new set of cutlery for over a year. When my wife and I saw this set it was an instant ”YES” They have been through the dishwasher about 6 times now. Initially there was some hard water spots. In subsequent washes with a rinse aid adjustment, the problem has corrected itself. It seemed that the first wash cycle produced the most water spots then after that the problem disappeared. That could be a residue issue left over from the manufacturing process. Be cautious with the knives, they are sharp and are serious ”meat cutters”!

I was nervous about ordering cutlery online without being able to hold pieces in my hand first. I finally went with a name I trust and reviewers who said there was a good weight to them. I'm glad I did. They are good looking without being extravagant and the weight is just enough that they feel like quality without being heavy. I'm pleased with my choice.

I bought this set as a birthday gift to myself and only opened the front display pieces of cutlery (not the rest of the set). I was pleasantly surprised by the weight of the knife and quality of the blade (had sharp teeth compared to cheaper cutlery sets where the blade is serrated but otherwise relatively smooth when running your finger across it). Around a week later I opened the rest of the set only to realize that the rest of the knives were significantly lighter than the first one I opened and the blades on them were much duller (similar to other cheap sets where the teeth are smooth to run your finger across). Overall I really like this set since the rest of the cutlery is good quality, but the knives were a significant disappointment after opening the rest. The matte finish on the handle has held up through dishwasher and manual scrubbing and the cutlery has not tarnished in their 4 months of use.

I fell in love with the look/design but the weight and thin manufacture is horrible. See my photos comparing it to my current Lagostina that I was replacing which was much thicker and of more substantial quality than the new set. It was advertised as "heavy gauge and substantial sizing" but is light! I could have bent the new spoon with my fingers it was so thin. This was a huge disappointment since Zwilling is supposed to be the higher end product vs Henckels. Even the Henckels cutlery (Alcea) at Canadian Tire was thicker and more substantial than this set! at a fraction of the price! I immediately packed it up for return! I purchased a different set (elsewhere) which are even heavier than my current set and still an 18/10 quality. I am tracking my return and it has been delivered, however, I have not got my promised refund yet....Amazon don't let me down!

Very good quality. They look very nice. The wife was tired of poor quality cutlery sets from low end merchants, so we wanted something that would look good for years without bending or chipping. Hopefully this will be the set. So far, very happy.
