Grimm Fairy Tales Adult Coloring Book: The Little Mermaid

Ugh. This is such a disappointment. Being as how I am a mermaid (there was only one Disney princess with the same color hair as me when I grew up...Ariel), I find this book to be a complete embarrassment to my species.All joking aside though, I am literally so bummed out right now. I pre-ordered this ages ago when I very first saw that it was coming out. I looked forward to it for so long for absolutely no reason at all. I just keep thinking that I must have somehow gotten a knock-off that someone photocopied in a basement somewhere or someone is playing a mean joke on me because this cannot be real. I don’t know if the photos I have included in this review do it justice or not but this is nothing but garbage. I have coloring books from the dollar store that are on nicer paper and with better printing than this. The images are sketchy at best, lopsided, uncentered, and even run off the some of the pages. Quality aside though, if the images were nice I could work with the rest but the pictures in this book are the worst part!!!I love Grimm Fairy Tales other coloring books, mainly the ones featuring all the different female fairy tale characters. In those books there is a page dedicated to The Little Mermaid that I throughly enjoyed coloring which is why, when I saw this book available to pre-order, I assumed that this was going to be an entire book dedicated just to the Little Mermaid!!! I don’t think I was being far off on that assumption either. They literally used the exact same image that was in the popular Grimm Fairy Tales coloring book as the cover page of this book! I feel like the intention was to bank on the popularity of the previous hit coloring book and utilize it’s success to dupe everyone into purchasing this book because they would expect it to be along the same lines or of similar style. It isn’t. At all.It is some weird, horribly printed, confusing, and awful comic book thing. There is so much black ink that you can’t choose what color you’d like the character’s hair to be or anything. It’s just awful. I mean, I have gotten some real duds purchasing coloring books from Amazon before but at least those looked kind of shady and were by unknown authors. This was a real kick in the stomach because they hyped it up for so long allowing for the anticipation to build AND they used their prior success with another book to mislead customers into thinking that this would be along the same lines in both quality and imagery but let me say this loud and clear...IT IS NOT!I have already requested to return this book and will be using my refund to purchase at least two other coloring books from better artists for the price of this one. I DO NOT recommend this book. If you want to color some beautiful mermaids I suggest that you type “Mermaid Coloring Book Selina Fenech” into your Amazon search bar and get one of those instead.

If you enjoyed the other Grimm Fairy Tale Coloring books, chances are you will NOT enjoy this one. I have learned my lesson, do not preorder Grimm, it will only lead to sadness. I literally cut the last 2 of the pictures out to color and threw the rest of the book away. If I were more motivated I would have returned it but... 'meh'.

The problem here is that it’s more of a comic book to color, not a coloring book. I was really disappointed because I preordered it based on my previous purchases of the Grimm series of coloring books, thinking it would be a variety of little mermaid images to color. This was a total loss for me, but maybe not to someone who is actually looking for a comic book to color. I bought the Belle, beast hunter as a preorder for the same reason, at the same time, and was filled with the same disappointment. Lesson learned. I’ll make sure there’s an art preview to the books I buy, moving forward. I don’t think that the art is badly drawn, it’s just not what I was expecting and maybe that’s on me.

BOO! It should be written in the description that this is based on a GRAPHIC NOVEL! If I knew what it looked inside I wouldn't have ordered. Add some inside pictures ffs. Will be returning.... what a waste of time!

I have two other Grimm fairytales coloring books that I loved. This, on the other hand is a graphic novel, not a coloring book. I suppose someone could color the micro pictures if they wanted to.

Purchased this for a friend of a friend that is incarcerated. I think she liked the color book. She never really told me thank you or of she was pleased with this product. I wish I could offer a better review for all of you who would like to know the quality of this color book. I sincerely apologize

Very disappointed. It isn't like the other Grimm Fairy Tales Adult Coloring books where it is just whole pages to color. It is like a comic book to color.

It's a comic book strip that you color not a page by page coloring book like all other coloring books I wanted several different styles of mermaid like sitting on rocks. Combing her hair or even swimming. There like directing her thru tour the story

Very disappointing; it’s basically a black and white comic for colouring in if you can get your pens or pencils into such small details. I was expecting a full book of the mermaid designs you can find in the other Zenescope books. This is an uncoloured comic; great for story and characters but awful for colourists. Follows the same box layout storyboard as a comic would. Few full page designs. Should be called comic book to colour not colouring book. Having waited so long for this I’m thoroughly disappointed.

This is utterly disappointing. I was so eager for this book to come out and its just a flop. Not only is upsetting that it is a comic book but there is so much dark space that it takes the enjoyment out of even thinking of coloring it. Also why at the end of the book you put in 2 coloring pages that were already in your other coloring books and then leave 2 blank pages. Also the comic itself is way too jumpy that it takes away from the overall appeal... what happened... and how can i return this?

la qualità dei disegni ovviamente è da favola, è un volume a fumetti con una storia da colorare, diperso in vignette sfondi e personaggi da colorare, in se non è niente male, nulla di eclatante, per fan dell'autore, è un must!

Une fois de plus erreur sur l'énoncé de cette article , nommé Coloring book alors que c'est un coloring BDPourtant j'adore la collection de Grimm Fairy Tales ,mais la il faudrait préciser que c'est une BD dans les argumentations de vente ,voir mettre quelques scan de l'article pour ne pas ce faire avoir !!
