Works well, reconditioned old stones
Hefty 10" diamond plates stuck to a plastic form with magnets. The first time I took the plates off the form all 6 magnets came out attached to the back of one of the plates. A drop of super glue and replaced the magnets. Easy fix... I put these plates on a stone holder and flattened every stone I had. Lots of water and back and forth with a rotation of the stones every 10 passes. The plates flatten ceramic, silicone carbide, and natural stones (Japanese, Chinese, Arkansas and Vermont slate). Ran the stones over 120, and then 180... All stones were flat using straight edges. No light between straight edge and stone. I used other finer diamond plates ( much more expensive) to finish finer grit stones. These plates worked really well for rough flattening! And for 20 bucks, I'm not afraid to be rough with them. I rejuvenated several old oil stones with noticable dishing to flat and ready to work again. It would have cost me hundreds to replace my old dished stones... Cleanup was simple. You can use a small screwdriver, tip of a knife, or anything to get into the slots to pop off the plates from the form. Wipe any excess water off the plates and form and let dry before reassembling. I'm very happy with these plates. They do show some wear after I flattened 10 stones on both sides, but I honestly abused them pretty hard with those old oil stones. And they still have plenty of grit left and I'll use them for years to come. So if you have beat up old sharpening stones, these plates will bring them back to perfectly flat working condition again with a little elbow grease and water. Well worth 20 bucks Update: I really abused these plates... I flattened water stones super easy and the first couple oil stones I flattened had been soaked in degreaser for a couple days before I flattened them....... I started flattening oil stones without degreasing........ They worked fine for a minute then clogged up with grease and oil... Black streaks throughout and just caked on there... Absolute mess! I sprayed a little WD and scrubbed them with Scotch Brite and the greasy build up came right off. I dried them and then scrubbed them with a little alcohol and they are clean and ready to work again. I'm pretty impressed with these diamond plates

Good value and effective
Worked great on my $20 synthetic corundum whetstone. I had some ruts about 1/8" - 3/16" deep and within 30 minutes the whetstone was flat as new using 120 grit then the 180 grit. Used a spray bottle to spray off the slurry every 10-15 seconds from both the stone and the plate for a continued cutting of the whetstone. Great price for the stone it was refacing.

Works but diamonds definitely fall off, not all tho
Bought this not to only flatten stones, which I have not yet, but to sharpen machetes. Machetes come bare ground in the most dumb sense. So I used this on a couple. Results were great, except the fact the most of the diamonds fell off onto me whilst doing it. Other than that, it seems to still have a bunch and can be used further. The good and bad part other than that is that it is 2 steel plates coated in diamonds, on a plastic piece, which is held together by 6 good magnets. Worked for what I wanted, but I'm covered I'm glitter and feel like a million bucks now 🤷🏼♂️

Excellent extra coarse Dia plate for little coin!
Absolutely great super coarse diamond plates for reprofiling and flattening your water stones. Yeah they are cheap, but the electroplating is done well and the diamonds are bedded well in the electroplating so the plate is gonna last pretty decently and it's very fast cutting due to the grit combo of 120/180 so you can really do some quick reprofile work or damage correction on knives and quick flattening of water stones with this two sided plate. It's flat enough, mine will let a 2 thousandths of an inch feeler gauge under a precision flat edge but not a 4 thou feeler gauge so it's flat enough, I prefer plates to be at 2thou or less of flatness but for 20 bucks I'll be OK with these at 4thou of an inch. The ease of use is great as it's a diamond plate so no worrying about soaking or anything. The durability of these plates have been good over the years and they don't wear out to quality. The weight is not to heavy so stone in hand sharpening is comfortable. For 20 bucks you can't ask for more, these things are A BARGAIN!! They are 5/5 stars all day long, now I'm speaking only on the 120/180 grit plates, I have no idea about the other plates so keep that in mind if you are are buying other grits. On the extremely coarse plates the grit contamination that is usually on these cheap China made plates isn't a problem but on the finer grit plates it will be a problem depending on how bad it is.

It works hard for the money...
an item where quality and functionality exceeds the price. Yeah, I know, there are better ones🙋 But this one keeps my stones flat enough and is lasting long enough I would buy another one when the time comes. If I did a lot of carving or whatever then I'd drop some big bucks but this works well enough.

Worked as promised. Very impressed.. fixed an old double-sided sharpening stone with several hollows in it. Took some time, but dis the job. Keep the tool rinsed of particles, and it performs well

Prompt delivery. Quality product. It worked very well to flatten and clean my stones. Be careful going from oil stones to water, and vise-versa. The oil slough got gummed up and into my water stones. I ended up cleaning the lapping hone with acetone. This might loosen the diamond grit? I believe they are soldered or heat connected in some proprietary manner but in other words, I just do not know. Proceed with caution.

It’s 2 thin sheets of metal glued to plastic far from flat.
