Can you get one with an African American ballerina?

I would buy 2 for my girls if they had an African American option. And no, I'm not painting a brown face on the doll with a sharpie as one respondent suggested ;-/

What is this made of? Solid wood, particle wood, cardboard?

It has a polished metal outside. The inside under the velvet it definately not cardboard. It is stiff but slightly flexible so I would say particle or a thin strip of wood. I found the same looking jewelry box at Walmart for $60.00 and up. This is the best deal.

can i have my childs name put on the top of this music box?

I bought this music box directly from Lenox about 10 yrs ago for my older granddaughter. At the time, they engraved her name on the top before sending. It is a beautiful keepsake. Be mindful, however, that it has tarnished a bit over the years; and being 17, she now stores it in the top of her closet. 😢
