i love Innes. s stories
A slightly old fashioned adventure story and not very p.c. Lots of action and full of a sense of place.the stamps connection a bit difficult to follow until the final outcome.i love Innes.s stories.they always take you into the stories and you.re there with the hero

Good story but unless you have a passion for philately you might find the detail of the stamp collection a little waring. Great tale of derring do and ships which is Hammond Innes forte.

slow read
I'm still plodding through this very slow and not terribly interesting book. The slowest and most boring of Hammond Innes that I have re-read lately. Maybe if you're interested in stamps it would have more appeal but if you want to read one of this chaps books there are much better ones out there

Always a wonderful writer, couldn't remember ever reading this one
Always a wonderful writer, couldn't remember ever reading this one....but I really enjoyed it, all about stamps and the Soloman islands with black magic and a romance thrown in.
