Works perfectly as a sharpener. Real metal.
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this Tripsky knife sharpener to sharpen kitchen knives and kitchen scissors at home. I found this sharpener to be heavier than expected, as the frame is very solid and heavy metal. The arms move independently and have an appropriate amount of give during use. The Tungsten Carbide section of the arms, where the work is actually done, is sufficiently long to not get missed. It's very important to know the difference between a knife "sharpener" and a knife "honer". People say they're sharpening their knives when they really mean they're honing it. Honing is straightening the blade. You'll see someone rubbing the knife edge against a whetstone or alternating slides against a honing rod. That takes the wavy blade and straightens it so it cuts better. A true sharpener, on the other hand, actually removes the metal of the knife to create a sharper edge. You should hone your knives before every use, but you should only sharpen when you have nicks to grind past or really want to have the finest edge possible as it physically wears down the blade each time. This product is a true sharpener, and I found tiny metal fragments on the blade's edge after use. Sharpening is also loud as metals clash, but that is to be expected. The knife was able to cut better after sharpening.Overall, I didn't find any flaws with this product and highly recommend it. 5/5 stars

Good results, but you have to learn to use it...
This design is good for counter-top storage, and easy access while cooking. However, the initial results was an uneven edge on the knives. Sort of scalloped. We found you must first sharpen at an angle with the edges closed (hold with your fingers at the top). Then repeat with the edges open (push outward with your fingers) and straight across. Then the edge is very good.

Not durable
Definitely not durable at all! This is the second time I have bought this product and both times they have broken in the same way. The small sharpening piece always falls off. So disappointing. Really like the idea and it works but not for long

Surprisingly well made and well performing
I have a commercial kitchen electric 4 stage electric knife sharpener, that I pull out maybe once a year to sharpen all of my 20 some odd knives in my kitchen. But, it's those older or most frequently used that dull more often that always bug me. I don't want to drag out the 'big guns' to just sharpen one knife. So, I got this one by Tripsky. I just pull it out of the cupboard and go to work. Using the latest technology, it provides a great, sharp edge FAST. It works well with single bevel, double bevel and even serrated edge knives. Most of mine are double bevel, the American standard. And, I get my knives razor sharp in minutes. Great purchase. Five stars.

Works well
This sharpens knives well and is very easy to use. I do worry about durability since one of the sharpening surfaces seems to have chipped upon use. Maybe this is normal and so far it hasn't caused a problem with the function.

Good for a quick knife sharpening
I like to cook, due to that I have a lot of knives. Different kinds. I was tired of the rod file and wanted something more quick. Didn't wanted to buy whetstone as they are expensive. Found this while browsing. Looked interesting so I ordered it. I would say it's a pretty nice tool for kitchen. It made one of the knives so sharp that my wife almost cut her finger. She was later mad at me. So I would say, it makes the knives so sharp that it might cut your finger. Recommended for regular households.

Not much better than a sharpening steel
Maybe I don't know what I'm doing, but I don't think this is any better than a sharpening steel. First, the instructions, printed on the box, aren't all that clear. The first instruction is "to polish your knife's blade giving it a very sharp smooth edge..." The second: "To properly sharpen your blade..." The third: "To finely sharpen your blade..."So what order do I follow? The second step first, followed by the third, and then the first? They're not numbered. How many swipes do I need? I know in step 3 that I'm supposed to drag the knife through "a few times." But what about the other steps? This tool won't give you a missing or very dull bevel. And it doesn't seem to sharpen any more than a sharpening steel.I also take issue with this seller reusing an Amazon product page that formerly sold knives. This skews the reviews of the sharpener. I don't recommend it. I'll stick with my sharpening steel and stone.
