A problem with 70+% of our print jobs
We were completely on board with this product. So much so that we also bought a finisher and a labelling machine. Every piece of equipment has its own problems. I can understand this, every machine has its quirks. We have had the machines (L801 plus & DLF220L) about 9 months now and we have yet to turn a profit because 40% or more of the jobs come out streaked, missing color, ink dumps on prints, the finisher doesn't die cut with even pressure, the slitter and rewinder sometimes breaks the material. When you get the machines to all work right and nothing goes wrong the labels look AMAZING!, but no business can have the level of waste that it takes to get a job to look good with these issues. On the jobs that mess up we waste about 20 feet of material for reprints and the time it takes to get the printer to work right is unbelievable.I financed the machines so I am stuck with machines that cost me more than what they make both in material and ink as well as labor time. I am better off buying labels because it costs less due to time it takes to fix the issues the printer has and the waste of material, and I would have less gray hairs. The tech dept for this company is either amazing and great or the worst service and phone etiquette I have ever had in my life, one or the other and it's a crap shoot about which one you are going to get today. I spend more time talking to the tech support than I do my siblings and most family members. The person that convinced me to buy the machine has moved on to other printers, he hasn't said why but there has to be a reason his just sat at his print shop for months before he sold it and bought another machine.I really believe this company has an amazing product but in order to get my machine to work right I have to pay the freight to send it back and pay them over $2,000 to retrofit it so that it will work better but even then they can't guarantee it will work right even after all of that. I am at a loss.

Horrible machine. Horrible service. Do not Buy.
These machines are terrible. Even their lead technicians can't get them to align properly. Our machine has been serviced TWICE and still won't work properly. It's less than two years old.My friend who is a professional printer can't believe how terrible these machines function. I've spent literally hours on the phone with their technicians who cannot get the machines to work. Ink smears, alignment always changing, skipping labels, not feeding labels properly. latch sensors always malfunctioning. Error messages that aren't covered in the documents. Awful.Afinia memjet printers are not what you want. I dare you to find more than 2 positive, real reviews on any printing website. Nobody is using these, nobody has even heard of the brand. It was a mistake to buy.Through the web I have connected with three other very disappointed people who are sad that they own these machines. We're forming a club for sad Afinia owners filled with regret. Do not join our club!
