Really fun group game - imagine Taboo and Charades and hilarity!
We have regular game nights with our group of friends. It can be challenging to find a fun game for larger groups that’s appealing to everyone. We play a lot of Telestrations, Code Names, King of Tokyo (with expansion pack). This game - It's in the Bag – has become the absolute favorite. It's just the right amount of pressure and hilarity. Our group often includes teens and even they love it which is saying a lot!! It's called It's in the Bag because a specific number of cards (depending on your group size) go into a secret bag and these are the cards used throughout the game. It's played in teams, three rounds - first round a clue giver describes the word or phrase on as many cards as possible for his teammates to guess before the VERY short timer runs out. Then the bag is passed to the other team where their clue giver gets a chance. The bag is passed back and forth between teams until all of the cards have been correctly guessed. During the second round the clue givers can only say one word to describe the card. Everyone has seen all of the cards in the bag from the first round so it’s not as hard as it sounds. Third round you act out the card. It’s like charades but faster and much funnier. The timer is short so the clue giver doesn’t have time to act out typical charades signals and the guessers are trying to remember a word that they’ve already seen. We feel like it greatly diminishes the stress of regular charades. Each round is scored but it really doesn’t matter who wins. It’s just that fun! As I said, even the teens vote for this game!

Great for family game night
Every Christmas, my family participates in a ‘game gift exchange’ and this is one of the games that was brought. We played it later that evening and had so much fun! Play is pretty simple and straightforward – you split all participants into 2 teams and then put place 4 cards from a chosen category in the bag for each player involved (for example, 4 players = 16 cards in the bag). (you can mix categories to make it harder or remain within a single category to keep it easier). Start the 30 second timer, pull out a card, and start ROUND 1-(talk to describe the words to your team). If your team guesses the card before 30 seconds, pull out another card and keep going until time is out. Round 1 is over when both teams have taken turns and all cards are guessed from the bag. Do the same for ROUND 2 (one word description-say 1 word to describe the card (still using the same cards that were in the bag so it helps if your team remembers the cards from round 1). The final round is round 3 (Act it out, only actions, no sound… still using the same cards from the bag). After all rounds are finished, you tally up your points and the winner is the team with the highest number. (Each card has a number written on it for point accumulation). There are a total of 5 different categories and the categories are VERY general (which makes it a little hard sometimes)…. The categories are as follows: PEOPLE: about people, their characteristics, and daily actions (example cards- vomit, birth, superman, hiccup, spaghetti, Shakira). RECREATION AND SPORTS about anything sport related : (example cards- guitar, baseball, protein shake, dominoes, mouth guard). ENTERTAINMENT: about movies, shows, and entertainment details (example cards - wifi, ghost, hairspray, friends, excitement, groundhog day). LOCATIONS: about places in the world (example cards - chimney, dinner table, tour, stoplight, farm). OUTDOORS: about animals, nature, or anything outdoors (example cards- meat, plant, gloves, panther, exit). Overall, a fun, family friendly game for people of all ages!

Super fun!
I bought "It's in the Bag, Junior" along with the standard "It's in the Bag" for my daughter's family for Christmas (2 adults, 5 kids ages 2-17). We used both games together and the younger children used the Junior cards and the teenagers and adults used the standard cards. It was a blast! My oldest grandchild was tasked with reading the rules before game night, so she explained the game to all of us in just a few minutes. We had so much fun and laughed a lot. The children are already asking for another game night to play "It's in the Bag." I highly recommend this fun, action-packed game for families. There are enough cards that it can be played over and over again without repeats. Here's how we played...Divide into two teams: First Round: Describe the word (or pictures for the little ones), without saying the word (like the game Taboo) Second Round: Describe the word/picture using only one word Third Round: Use charades to describe the word. At the end of each round, count how many cards your team guessed. High score wins. There were 9 of us, so it was not as easy as you might think to remember words that were guessed in a previous round. The more people that play, the more fun it is. I think it would be great for large gatherings.
