When using 0ppm RO filtered water from my Nu Aqua system, I can clean most messes on the windows/windshield with only a teaspoon (or two for really nasty baked on crud) of Kristall Klar per gallon of RO water. When buying a case, it's only 7.95 (with tax in my state) for a bottle of Kristall Klar, 1 teaspoon worth is just shy of $0.16 cents. Easily saving a $1.50 or more compared to buying a pre packaged Bug Wash from the store. Winter time is coming up so this and a gallon of RO water alone will easily freeze and turn to a chunk of ice. No problem, to start with add 20 percent of a type of alcohol, like 91 Isopropyl, to the mix and test it either outside on the coldest winter night or in a freezer set to at least 20 below F if you can (colder if you need a lower freeze point). If the 20 percent ISO mix freezes, add more ISO to the mix until it stays a fluid even in the coldest temps. Keep in mind most alcohols like ISO will easily evaporate when the temperature is above freezing (altitude also effects evaporation/boiling points), so you may have to replace any ISO that evaporates during a warm day in the winter months. A 2 quart pack of 91 ISO can usually be found at Sams for cheap so making a Winter blend of washer fluid can still be under 1.50 a gallon depending on local temperatures in the winter. Around here winter blends normally cost 2.99 (on sale) to 3.99 a gallon. Review: Cleans the windshield very well and has a nice smell - This product came highly recommended to me by my mechanic. So, I gave it a shot. I am very glad to have followed my mechanic’s suggestion. It cleans the windshield very well and gives off a nice smell when you use it.
