Flower Fairies Alphabet Coloring Book

The media could not be loaded.  This is a really cute set of 24 designs of Flower Fairies based on the artwork of Cicely Mary Barker. All but U and X letters have a flower fairy (though those letters are included on pages, so you can still use the book as a way to help teach letters.)The designs are fairly open and easy to color. There is plenty of room left for blending or adding details if you wish to do so. I think it is a good book for adults who do not care for a lot of intricate details, those who are fans of Ms. Barker, and for children as well.As it is printed on both sides of the page, using certain coloring medium will bled through to the design on the back of the page. As I like all of the designs in the book and it is a good value, I decided to purchase a second copy of the book so I can use whatever type of medium I want and still be able to color all of the pages.This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing it with my coloring medium.24 Flower Fairy Alphabet designs inspired by Cicely Mary Barker's artworkPrinted on both sides of the pagePaper is medium weight, slightly smooth, white and non-perforatedGlue BindingDesigns stop well before the binding area.All designs have a framing line around the outer edge to give a natural stopping point for the design and all of the elements within it. I really appreciate this feature in coloring books.Alcohol-based markers bleed through this paperWater-based markers, gel pens and India ink pens leave very slight shadows on the back of the page.Colored pencils worked well with this paper. Both oil and wax-based pencils provided good pigment, layered well with the same or multiple colors and blended well using a blending stick.

I have 3 complaints about this coloring book.1) the coloring pages are 2 sided, so only one can be displayed at a time. I understand that it is 'just' a coloring book, but it's also kind of not. It's more of an art book. You generally don't see thick 'high quality paper so that felt-tip pens or paint can be used' on a cheap run of the mill coloring book. It would have been nice to have each fairy on its own dedicated page so they could all be displayed at the same time.2) the pages are not perforated or easy to remove whatsoever. For an art book with this much thought and love put into it, I would have expected a way to remove the pages to display or copy them for at home reproduction for multiple children.3) there is no table of contents. Again, I get that it is 'just' a coloring book, but being that it is a very specific coloring book, a table of contents would have made sense, and been quite nice.

I honestly would have been happier if I had found this book before the "officially adult" colouring book instead. The only thing I dislike about this book is the insanely bright pink cover, lol! Aside from that, the pictures are nice and big, wonderfully reproduced, good for either simple or detailed colourists, and it doesn't include any "wallpaper" pages or anything. It's just what it says, reproductions of the Flower Fairy Alphabet by Cicely Mary Barker. You can colour to match her original colours, or go your own way, it's very nice. Plus the price point means you can buy several (like me) so you don't have to worry if you want to use your markers instead on the pages.

This has gorgeous flower fairies but is just like a ‘regular’ inexpensive children’s coloring book in thinness of the pages and a very slightly beige tone to the paper. I followed another reviewer’s advice and got two. The pages are a little too thin to color on both sides of the paper and still look nice. My granddaughter still loves it!

Quality paper which can be painted or colored. I didn't like that they had put two alphabet letters back to back on one page. Being able to line up the painted pages would have helped in learning the letters and also showing off their hard work. Drawings where delightful.

This book is a bit of an oxymoron in that the pictures are really too complicated for a child who is learning their ABC's to color. That is the only thing the prevents me from giving it 5 stars. Nonetheless, it is so charming it is just fun to color; Great pictures.

ILLUSTRTED ART AWAITING CREATIVE COLORING: This is a book with wonderful illustrations whose art not only grabs the attention of children but adults as well.I like this coloring book because it not only grabs the child's attention, but it provides opportunity for the child to see the beauty that is found in form which is simply expressed, while enabling a child see how color accentuates beauty: the beauty that is found in the form. A plus is that it inspires an adult to participate in the child's creative and artistic growth and maturity... A great book for helping all children grow in artistic awarnesss but in a simple way that doesn't overwhelm them... it is a treasure... jack O'Dell

I never knew this book even existed until I saw looking around at fairy books, so when I saw it, I HAD to buy it. A adorable fairy coloring book for all ages

Beautiful colouring book. Bought for my 10 year old daughter and myself. We both love fairies and colouring them in.

Bought this as a stocking filler at Christmas for 7 year old who loves fairies. Beautiful detailed pictures to paint or colour. Only given 4 stars as paper quality could have been slightly better. My niece loved it and as I enjoy colouring wish I had bought another one for myself instead of another art nouveau book which was not as nice. Well worth the money.

Such a beautiful colouring book. All letters of the alphabet are names of flowers with a beautiful picture of fairies with those flowers. The package arrived quickly and would highly recommend.

I love the Flower Fairies and colouring. So this book is lovely. Very true to original Flower Fairies. I have numerous Flower Fairy ornament plates so like to colour in the original colours. Back to my childhood. So relaxing.

Very pretty and great gift for my niece
