For the size and price, this is a great headphone amp! The sound quality is commendable, as are the build quality and outstanding battery life. I use mine with the Line output from a Sony D-EJ250 CD Walkman and into decent headphones the result is impressive.Small point: Someone on online forum head-fi.org has commented on the slight (2db @ 20Hz) bass roll-off and said it "appears to be largely due to undersized coupling caps between the volume pot and gain stage (1uF into 9.4K resulting in a -3db point of 16.9Hz)" They are there to protect your headphones from any DC coming from the source. However, after checking DC offset was v low, they took the drastic step of shorting the caps. They then reported "Bass definitely bigger and tighter (not over the top, just less softened)." Because of space constraints, no better sounding alternative caps look likely, but tampering with the amp would naturally invalidate the guarantee...
