Amazing! Get one now.
Just got this radio and had it running within the hour. It's amazing for the price (apply for a credit card and get another £50 off). Really solidly built. The firmware, software and drivers are a breeze to use. Using the intuitive software you can programme all the number keys and the 2 function keys below the PTT to perform functions directly or are shortcuts to menu items - you need this software as there are a multitude of menus to execute dozens of parameters and settings. The software reads and writes to/from the radio flawlessly. You actually get more in the box than the description suggests. You don't need to use the charging cradle so it's handy as a stand. It's early days so I can't comment on battery life. I've dabbled with the second antenna input without much result. I haven't checked the harmonics/spurious emissions yet but have seen others tests which suggest they are fine on the 2m and 70cms but not others. I reckon the likes of Yaesu, ICOM etc., need to have a rethink regarding their HTs. You will not be disappointed!

Good value handheld
Very pleased with the radio. It has a lot of extra features compared to other handhelds and you don't have to be a licensed radio amateur to get good value from it- there is a lot for shortwave listeners to enjoy even without being able to transmit. There is a small antenna supplied with it, suitable for vhf. For shortwave reception there is a second aerial socket to which a telescopic antenna could be fitted. It is an sma socket and an adaptor would be required if your second antenna has a different connector. The GPS function is also useful.

You won't be disappointed...what a radio
What a radio..... The Radtel RT-880G Tested and tried on power meter on 2m 9.6w 70cms around 8.9w And yes it does transmits on 27mhz outputing around 6w.once radio is unlocked, but be WARNED it's A very dirty transmission! harmonics are something to questioned about. The HF receive is good once you get a nice antenna attached, the stock antenna only works for 2m/70cms. APRS and gps work as they should bit of skill need to use the aprs side of things But every thing else is pretty user friendly The build quality is very good nice and strong feels well built Sound from the speaker is very good and clear, New firmware has been released not so long ago and there is new firmware being made by the community of followers

Looks & fills very nice Sceen is bright & easy to read sound is clear but it's easy to brick when assigning items with key pad Its built well but it can't be programmed with Chirp The software from Radtel site was very hard to understand it took 2 hours to load 2 repeaters then it wouldn't transmit wasted another 20mins sorting that it looks like it being Returned
