Schlage F10 CSV ELA 626 Commercial Series Elan Door Lever, Hall & Closet Passage Lock, Satin Chrome

I had a high use exterior door on a rental home whose doorknob malfunctioned and I had to replace it. This door uses a separate deadbolt lock for security that still works fine; I just needed the replacement passage knob. I selected this one because I wasn't sure I needed a commercial strength knob, but I definitely wanted something more durable than the cheap doorknobs you can find anywhere. This "light commercial" grade knob looked like it would fill the bill and was priced lower than a commercial knob and about double the price I'd have paid for a regular residential knob. This one fit in the space of the old doorknob fine. I didn't even have to install the latch plate on the opposing door jamb and was able to leave the existing one in place. But I did have to chisel out the corners of the impression of the door for the latch plate on the door side. The original doorknob had a plate with curved edges, and this one is square. But that took just a couple minutes to do and it fits fine. I guess square fittings are more common for commercial use doorknobs. Everything else went together just like the instructions indicated, although there were several parts included that I didn't need to use, including what looked like extra plate covers or fittings for the door and door jamb. Don't throw away the instructions, there is a link listed on them that you can use for filing a warranty claim. The doorknob seems to be solid and has smooth movements and I am hopeful I'll get many years from this one. I think the category of "light commercial" is appropriate for the item and the price, and I'll update this review if the doorknob falters prematurely.

Quality product, easy install, nice appearance.

Have replaced all the beat up old brass finish knobs in the entire house with these levers. They work very well so far, seem well made, and look great. Easy to install. The catch door strike plates that come with the Elan levers are longer and a different shape than the original ones in my house so I ordered Prime-Line Products E 2457 Door Strike Plates instead so I wouldn't have to cut into the door jam trim. These levers are a pleasure to open and give the house an clean updated look. I also like the way the end of the lever points back so it lessens the chance to snag clothing, purse straps, etc.

I am using them on 2 different entry doors and they are holding up to heavy usage. I just ordered another because I was so pleased with the first 2

They were not for industry; however, I did use them in an open access office space. No locks on them. Works good for there purpose. Looks good enough for your home too. Inner doors

Great handle! Easy to Install. Much easier for handicapped, elderly, and arthritic than a round knob.

About 8 years ago I did all the locksets in my house with the Schlage Elan. Nice. Clean. Simple. All previous locksets had the option of swapping out a square corner latch (on the door) with a rounded corner variety. This did not include any options. Only square. Not a big deal for one door but could be an issue if you had 50 doors. Also, the latch now has the a dead latch button as you would find on a keyed lockset. My previous passage sets did not have this. Again, no big deal but a little weird.

We buy these schlage commercial ("CS" - fire rated) levers in batches. When needed, we go to our sources to see who has the best pricing and 2 - 3 times now we've purchased them from Amazon. Great quality, looks good, and works for our application.

Using it for an outside gate. Really nice and sturdy, what you would expect from Schlage. It was very easy to install in about 10 min.

Use it for a commercial door. After two months, it's working as expected. Open and close about 400 times a day.

When I first opened the box, I loved it. Nice finish, and a quality Schlage product. When I went to install, the door had a round hole only catch, and this lock comes solely with a rectangular screw in catch, so I had to get out the tools and modify the door to fit. Once installed, it functions great, and looks fantastic! However there is more play in the handle on both sides of the door than I was expecting. You can move the lever end back and forth almost 1/2 inch. It may be plenty durable, as per the box it was reportedly tested for over 400,000 cycles, however, I had expected a more secure feeling handle action. Again, looks Great, and functions perfectly. And I would probably buy this same product again in the future if I had a similar need.
