Good Quality Workmanship!
When my attention was drawn to this product by a media review I read regarding the efficacy/functionality of the item, I looked up reviews of it on Amazon, which I mostly found to be quite positive. However, I also found numerous reviews posted on Amazon by customers sharing that upon receiving the item ordered immediately found it to be of inferior or inconsistent workmanship; which left me somewhat leery about ordering it. However, I proceeded to place an order for it, figuring that if it arrived in such "inferior" condition, I could return it. Happily, the one shipped to me matches all of the many accolades published here about the quality of workmanship of the product, as reflected in the many high-level reviews of it. While I have yet to actually use it, this product looks exactly as described by those who previously purchased it and have found it to be exceptional in quality and performance.

Well made with two caveats
well made spatula with a few caveats. Wooden handle so best not put in the dishwasher. The spatula is straight from the handle. With an offset it would be easier to slide under a delicate fish.

This is the best turner/spatula money can buy
This is the best turner/spatula money can buy. Don't be mislead by the name, this spatula is not just for fish. The front edge is beveled allowing it to easily slip under whatever you're cooking. The spatula is small enough to maneuver in your pan, and has a nice amount of flex (but not too much), helping with delicate items. The blade of the spatula has a full tang (the metal extends all the way to the bottom of the handle) and with the three rivets this spatula is extremely durable. The spatula looks exactly the same as the day I bought it. The only reasons to think twice about buying this: 1) If you work in a commercial setting and need something that can be sanitized - the wood handle could be a problem there. For most people, however, the wood handle is a bonus as it won't melt in high heat. 2) You only have coated non-stick pans and don't want to scratch the coating.

Good. Probably the best you can get at this price.
I bought this because it was recommended by several kitchen utensil review sites i trust. According to them, it's not the absolute best, but it's very close to the top ones (especially when considering the price). The other good fish turners were Mercer Hell’s Handle Fish Spatula, Wusthof Fish Spatula and LamsonSharp Slotted Turner, all more expensive than this. I wanted something with a wooden handle, so it doesn't melt when left on the hot side of a pan (all the other spatulas above can suffer from this, more or less). It's Made in USA, the metal used seems good quality and is flexible just enough without feeling flimsy (this is important for a fish spatula). The tip is sharpened (but not like a knife) and there's a curve at the spatula's end. All these things are crucial for a good fish spatula. This is one of them. CON: -the handle could use some more polishing: the walnut wood is a bit rough and the metal handle protrudes the wooden sides just enough to feel it with your palm. This can be resolved with a little sandpaper and it is a small thing to nitpick; i wish i could give it 4.5 stars. ps: don't put it in the dishwasher because it has a wood handle (doh!).

Perfect
I needed a very thin spatula to turn eggs in my cast iron pan, and this spatula is eggcellent for that use. It's also perfect for turning/transferring delicate fish fillets as well. The edge is very sharp, so there's no crumpling of food when you're trying to insert it underneath - it just glides right under. I wash it by hand due to the wooden handle, and it's easy to clean if you rinse it right after use. I was hesitant to purchase it due to the high price, but have found it's worth it.

A good kitchen tool to have
I'd been eying this spatula for some time so with the urging of a cooking site I rely on, I purchased this one. I hesitated when I saw the price but I bought it anyway and am glad I did. My pots and pans are all cast iron or stainless steel (no non-stick) so I don't have to worry about using metal tools. The spatula is surprisingly lightweight and the edge is not blunt but tapered and quite nice for slipping under delicate foods. It works well with pancakes, too. Choose to spend your money on a few well-made tools over gimmicky gadgets. That it's Made in USA is the icing on the cake!
