DEF Refractometer for Measuring Diesel Exhaust Fluid Concentration of Diesel Engines

Works a lot better than than the floating disks type. The disk type showed def being bad.

I check the DEF quality of all the DEF I put into my diesel truck to make sure I don't end up with costly repairs. Takes but a minute to check the DEF quality of your DEF source. Highly recommended for any modern diesel owner.

I was skeptical at first because the price was so low. Normally these refractometers are expensive, especially if purchased by the company for the shop. I just was tired of either the shop one was being used or damaged. I got this one and used some distilled water to calibrate it and it was nearly dialed in perfect out of the box. Tested with new clean DEF and it shows 32.5% which is what good DEF should test at.

Works fine. Seems to be accurate. Reads 0% with water 32.5% with new def. Easy to use. Helped me determine that somebody swapped out DEF for water at Walmart which gave me all kinds of fault codes. If you have any faults that indicate bad fluid, test it before doing anything else. Def has a shelf life so it is good to test.

I bought two 2.5 gallons of Bluedef Platinum and both tested bad with the pathetic "2 disc must float" tester, a total waste of money. Ordered this 25 dollar refractometer on Amazon to test these two Platinum jugs and both are dead nuts on 32.5 percent urea content. I checked calibration with distilled water and it was dead nuts on that too!I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I heard good things about the Refractometer but we’re off to a bad start. I just open it and the box came broken but other then that it looks great and hopefully it’s really accurate as they say it is.
