Great knife, BIGGER than what's in the description
I bought the EvoGrip 18 - red. It's a great knife, but it's bigger than what I wanted. The product dimensions listed are: 3.3 x 0.8 x 0.6 inches, however it's actually 3.3" long, 0.8" wide (at it's widest in the grip) and 1" tall (at it's tallest, where the main blade sticks up). I took the widest and tallest dimensions which is what's important to me. These dimensions are a lot bigger than what they gave. I bought a Victorinox Classic SD for my key chain and it's a fantastic knife, mostly for it's size. I was looking for another knife that had a more utility, but I wanted it to be smaller than what I would call a "classic Swiss army knife". Unfortunately this is just as big as what I'd call a "classic Swiss army knife". From that perspective it's disappointing, but the quality of this knife is excellent. I regret it being bigger than what I wanted, but it's a good quality knife and I don't regret buying it. I like the rubberized grip inlays. It feels better to hold, and I think it gives the knife a better look from the standard "Swiss army" look. One thing I'm not sure about is that the scissors have very (very) small serrations along it's cutting edges. I imagine that this helps with "gripping" whatever it is you're cutting, but it may make them hard (impossible?) to sharpen. I would guess that if you don't sharpen your knifes, the serrations are better, if you plan on doing any sharpening at some point, they may be an issue.

Daily workhorse
According to Amazon, I bought one of these 8 years ago and it has been in my pocket everyday since then (except on airplanes). I have owned several SWKs over the years and the Evolution 18 is my favorite. It gets used a lot and is beginning to show some wear so I just ordered a new one. This is probably extravagant because, except for some minor cracks in the handle and some binding when opening it (and, before you ask, yes I have tried oiling it) it is perfectly functional. I use the knife virtually everyday and have used all 15 of the functions at one time or another, so it is a very useful tool to have handy. One of the big selling points for me is that it has the Wenger style scissors which have an almost bullet proof spring as opposed to the flimsy little spring found on the Victorinox style scissors. Given a choice,I'll never be without one.

Still the optimal on-person EDC multitool
This has gone with me everywhere for nearly a year. After much research I concluded that the EvoGrip 18 was the best available SAK for EDC. The superior scissors, the ergonomics, the looks, it is a very useful and beautiful companion. I would say the 18 is better than the 17 unless you drink a lot of wine. I also believe the S18 is inferior to the 18; a locking mechanism should only be useful if you plan on doing tough work with the knife blade... which you obviously really shouldn't. The lock appears to stick out a bit and I'd suspect it makes it carry less comfortable.I also own a Leatherman Wave, and I'd say that for on-your-person EDC multitools I much prefer Victorinox over Leatherman, due to the slimness and easy access to dedicated tools. Downside is that you are sacrificing strong pliers.

New Look, Same Swiss Army
The finger grips are something new on this model of knife, but the rest of the knife is the same, reliable material and workmanship people should expect from pocket knives and multi-tools.

The best one in the land
With 30 years of outdoor adventures under my belt, from easy fam camps to ultra remote wilderness excursions, this is a must-have to have at your side on the regular. I am not going to tell anyone how to do anything, so this is a must-have option for you to have to pick from when going out on adventures. It has the absolute right mix of tools and it is not a burden to carry around. You don't want to be packing and not have this as an option to choose.
