Useful supplement for energy metabolism(siabetics)

Product packaging is good and delivery by the seller was before time. I purchased this product after seeing a video about the difference between R Alpha Lipoic Acid (RALA) versus Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA). RALA has much higher absorption into the body than ALA. I suffer from peripheral neuropathy and had been taking ALA for a while with no noticeable difference. After starting on RALA (this brand) I found some improvement in my peripheral neuropathy symptoms within a short period of time. It take one capsule daily. I believe I need to take this supplement for a while (a few months) before I see more results. So am very happy with this supplement. The downside is that this is an imported brand and very expensive. If the price can be more affordable that will be a big plus.

Every time I buy this product, I find at least 2–3 capsules in the bottle that are damaged — the shell is cracked and the powder spills everywhere. The manufacturer makes terrible capsules despite the high price. This is very disappointing, especially for a premium supplement.

I have taken this for a few years now. This is the best form of alpha lipoic acid. If it doesn't have the R, it's synthetic and it's junk. This bottle lasts me two months usually. I take one every morning on an empty stomach with water, about 15 minutes before I have coffee. I initially started taking this for fibromyalgia-like pains in my arms and shoulders. This supplement, along with strengthening my back, has eliminated my pain. I believe this supplement is very effective for nerve and muscle pain. I've read a book about lipoic acid and the benefits are massive. It's an anti oxidant that's natural and as you age, your body makes less of it. This is a supplement that actually works. I have my husband taking it now too. Pills aren't too big and are easy to swallow with water. Container is easy to open. I think the company, life extension, makes quality supplements.
