I’ve used Zyliss products before and they’ve always been high-quality, this slicer is no exception. At first the slices were thicker in the middle and thinner toward the sides, caused by a blade that was slightly bent (see image). The blade of a cheese slicer needs to be very thin to reduce the amount of friction so the slicer can be easily pulled through the trees without tearing.This was easy to correct. I wrapped the end of my thumb with athletic tape so my thumb wouldn’t get cut in case I slipped. Then I gently pushed the blade down in the middle and observed what happened. I went slowly and it took 15 or 20 gentle nunges to get the blade straight but now the slices are uniform in thickness.A great little product that does a superb job but you may have to take a few minutes to get the blade perfectly straight. It’s worth the effort. Highly recommend.

This device does not remotely do what it is supposed to, failing on multiple fronts. It adjusts very coarsely and the smallest setting still gives a quite thick cut. The wheel side of the cutter wraps the cheese around it if the slice is small enough or the cheese is soft enough, and pulling it off reduces the cheese to small chunks. It is also impossible to do long cuts as the wheel clogs with the wrapped cheese. On large settings, it more breaks apart the cheese than cuts it, meaning no matter what you get chucks rather than any kind of clean cut. The adjustment mechanism is also very loose, meaning it tends to open up the more you use it unless you adopt a very awkward grip. The only thing it is good at is being easy to clean. All in all, it is completely unfit for purpose, and far inferior to the older Dial-a-Slice model, which while prone to breaking at least did the job until then.

On actual cheddar cheese (firm, white), this produced not slices but crumbs and confetti. Probably great on a cheese like Jarlsberg, not so great on brittle cheddar. Well designed, though.

Like the product but you need to be very careful when cutting because it is super sharp cut myself twice

Takes some getting used to, but once I got the hang of it, I really enjoy this.
