Definitely. You willNeed something to put underneath the rug because you will need to press hard. If the backing is hard plastic, it may not workBut all fabric and thick padding wasSimple for me

Q: How do you get the blade to come out

You cannot get the blade to "come out". To install/change blades: Hold the knife body with the "d-ring" facing you, loosen the screw until you can access the blade and blade compartment, insert new blade... reverse procedure to close the knife body and secure the blade in place.

Q: Removed blades from handle, but storage lid will not screw back on securely and blade is not secure. Cannot be used unless lid is secure. Help!

Once the knife is loose and in two pieces. To close slide the handle blade end down and into . Closes like a clam shell, then tighten.
