The new nibs is normally with some oil paint on the surface to protect it from rust. Please use hot water or detergent clean it the dry it with soft cloth. Dip the ink at the line no more than the half of nib, after using please clean the nib to make sure it work well next time.

Needs work!
The feather pen is beautiful, but it doesn't fit into the nib well. The nib is too big and not shaped correctly for the pen, almost as if it wasn't actually made for that pen. The nib does not move as someone else review their did and it does not feel like stainless steel. I was going to keep it for a decoration but decided at that price to return it for a pen and nip that are made to go together. Disappointed!

Poor quality
This is poor quality. My first feather had all these tiny holes in it and the "glue" came apart in certain areas showing gaps. If you look at the right side of the 1st feather, you can see it's pretty smooth and it doesn't feel/look like anythings holding it into shape, but something is. You can see/feel from the separated parts on the left side that the feather was roughed up. I ordered a replacement pen and the second feather was even worse. It looked like someone tried to yank out some strands,it was horribly frayed. The feather itself is bent weird too. Really disappointed.It was also my fault for not reading the website disclosure about the ink, but I was really surprised when I saw the empty bottle. Not sure why most companies can give you ink with their shipment, but this company can't?

Terrible product!!!
This was terrible!!! They made it seem like it was a calligraphy set and everything was there even the ink bottle, but, NO INK! What’s the point?? I was so shocked to see this when my daughter tried to use her Christmas present. VERY disappointing!!

Beautiful
Pen is amazing, box is beautiful until you read it and realise its like an add for a domain? Its weird..wish something historical was written inside since the outside of the box is so beautiful.. Pen is nice, hurts fingers after long use though

Hurts my hand. Writes ok...
The handle has too many grooves and hurts my hands. A few mins of writing and my hand is sore.Other than that, it writes ok, not great. Some of nibs don't hold the ink well and it leaves a lot of blots on the page. It's not able to write thin and then thick lines. It doesn't split open to create the marks.

The ink bottle is a empty fake there is a label on it that makes it look full. Everything else is wonderful
