Yum! The best flavor from the best company for Turkish Delight
My only complaints--the things that keep me from giving this oft-purchased item five stars--is that you have to bang the things on the edge of the box to get the excess powder off (somehow, it still ends up all over the place), and that they don't sell them (at least not on Amazon) with walnuts. I believe they sell them with pistachios, but those aren't very good. It's easy enough to grab a couple of walnut halves with a piece of the candy and eat them together; the pieces are small enough to do that. Very tasty!

Very intriguing (unusual!) flavor, though not sure if i'll buy again.
This is the same Haci Bekir Turkish Delight with the very light dusting of powdered sugar, the hand-cut appearance, and the firm texture, as the pistachio that I reviewed earlier. The difference with this, is it's a rose flavor. To start with, the flavor is really overpowering, that it's like you're eating an entire rose. It is not pleasant for the first couple of seconds, I suspect too much of a good thing. After a moment this gives way to a very pleasant taste almost like fruity, rose-tinged honey. While I really enjoy this after the first couple of seconds, when the intensity wears away, it's really hard to get past the initial intensity. Whenever I have had floral flavors in middle eastern desserts, it has never been this potent. It's confusing to my palate, to say the least. When I have a bit more experience with this taste i'll report back.

Super
The ones I got were a bit chewy but for people who can get over that the taste is absolutely amazing

"On June 30, 2010, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) called for the FDA to ban Red 40.[15]"
that's a quote from wikipedia. that's an ingredient of this candy [colour, allura red e 129 (fd & c red # 40]. along with 'artificial flavour (rose), as listed on the box. an identical box to the one in the photo, by the way.you will see that the company DID list ingredients, just not all of them. its obvious why, and a nasty trick to pull on unsuspecting customers. i reread their info before writing this, ans see a bunch of gobbly-goop about 'ingredients might vary, blah blah blah... so this is a real con... suckering in people with a recipe discerning consumers will approve, then punching them with chemicals.the taste? rose-flavored gummy bears sums it up. gummy sticky yucky. absolutely NOTHING like the mouth-watering turkish delight i remember from my frequent trips to the UK several years back. that's why i ordered it... can't find any locally. guess i can't find REAL turkish delight on amazon, either.grumble grumble.ps if you'd like to read the whole wiki article, its listed under ... A disappointment
I found this version of Turkish Delight chewy, almost to the point of rubbery. It was a disappointment. The overall flavor was acceptable. However, with Turkish Deight, the texture matters a great deal.

Clean-bite Turkish Delight
The creation of Turkish Delight is an art, and like most other culinary arts it suffers from the effects of temperature and altitude. The Haci Bekir Turkish Delight demonstrates this perfectly: where most turkish delight cubes are of a soft, creamy gelatin that comes away in short strings when bitten through, Haci Bekir Turkish Delight comes away clean. The rose flavor is a perfect example of traditional turkish delight, but the texture is slightly altered. The firmer texture would make Haci Bekir perfect for hiding in one's desk and sneaking a piece before that stressful meeting, or for giving to a child that one knows will find a way to get something gummy just where one does not want it to go. However, Haci Bekir is not the brand of turkish delight that one should serve at a dinner party, because afficionados will find it too hard and too quick to depart the palate.Three Stars: A delightful turkish delight, but too clean to bite.

Rose Flavoured Turkish Delight (Haci Bekir)
Haci Bekir is by far the best Turkish Delight we have ever tasted! Turkish Delight is a new treat for our family celebrations, and we will always buy Haci Bekir! The texture is firm and chewy, the flavor is delicate but undeniably rose flavoured, and the experience is as delightful as Edmund describes in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis! Thank you for this fantastic treat!
