the love that she fall and failed and finally she drove ...
A dream of young girl, to become a worriers wife , the love that she fall and failed and finally she drove thought it and got married to the same man who she was in love, and travelling in the land between blast shelling and bombs, living between snakes and scorpions, are described so vivid, hats off for jean sasson, it worth reading to know the pain and gain that a simple middle class born female went through to make her dream come true.

Not to the mark- unnecessarily made a detailed book.
Joanna only played a victim. At the end whole of the family & their Kurdish Friends & Fighters - all well settled in England, Australia, Switzerland,Austria or other places. Left the book only reading few pages with interest. I will never recommend anyone to read it...

This was a strong family that found strength and joy in tumultuous and deadly times
I couldn't put down Joanna's story, relishing getting to know her family and culture. This was a strong family that found strength and joy in tumultuous and deadly times. I have read several of Jean Sasson's books and, though they were all great, this one wasn't depressing like the Princess series and Mayada. It's a beautiful story and Joanna is an eternal optimist.
