Chef Specialties 4 Inch Futura Pepper Mill and Salt Mill Set

Love these S&P grinders in stainless steel - small and fit nicely in your hand. Only thing better would be if they held more peppercorns and rock salt crystals.

I bought my first set in 2014 and both the salt and pepper shaker worked well for years. The pepper mill eventually failed and I bought a new set. That pepper mill didn't work at all so I exchanged it for another set but again I am disappointed with the pepper mill which barely works. More than likely this one is going back too.

I received these items in a timely manner. They were well packaged, and came in undamaged condition.They are very attractive and sturdy, and work perfectly. The pepper has metal grinding parts, and the salt has ceramic grinding parts. There is a small protective strip across the bottom of the grinder that is plastic, but the grinding mechanism itself is ceramic, not plastic.The mills are easy to fill and easy to adjust anywhere from a coarse to a very fine grind.I was concerned about the small size, but I shouldn't have been! They are actually much more comfortable and easy to use than larger grinders, and as a bonus, they are small and attractive enough to take to the table.

These match everything else I have - ei. my crank coffee grinder. They feel well made, work great.I got them to try grinding raw sugar so it would mix in better with cold stuff like on my cereal. I think that requires an electric - like coffee grinder. So that doesn't work well, but it isn't what these are made for. They work well for their purpose. I will probably get another pair or at least another pepper mill as I like different peppers.I would highly recommend. A family might want a larger size. Perfect for me. They will go with me in my camper over the summer so small is good.I contacted customer service with a question before I bought these and they were quick and very helpful.

Quite small. The Pepper grinder is quite fine it also leaves grindings after use.

I saw these in a great breakfast joint in Boston. They look and function very well...easy to clean and can churn salt/pepper down to almost powder. The stainless steel provides heft and a solid feel for such small units. The only reason why I knocked it down to a 4* is because the salt mill's mechanism is plastic, which will wear quickly. Otherwise, a solid by for not too much $.

Very nice quality. Stainless steel will hold up very well. I hadn't noticed the size (4") when I ordered, so was a little disappointed with the actual capacity size inside, but will just have to refill more often. They are perfect to keep on my small kitchen table.

I read all of the reviews and was a little concerned about purchasing the product, but did anyway. I am happy that I did!Yes, the pepper grinder has a steel grinder system, just as it should. And, yes, the salt grinder has a ceramic (NOT PLASTIC) grinder system, just as IT should. With the moisture associate with salt, a ceramic grinder system is the best system - it is strong and will not rust like the steel might.
