Chasing threads
Got this to chase the threads of a rifle barrel for a muzzle device. I have a customers rifle that we did a barrel swap on the replacement barrel threads were not right. I contacted the manufacturer who recommended chasing the threads since I could not attach a flash hider. Ordered this shipping was fast and it worked great got the job done and have a happy customer.1/2x28

Like cutting butter--only make sure you have the right size.
Tried using the common dies that come in sets bought at auto parts stores. 1/2 inch is pretty big and it's just too big for those tiny handles. I got half way into the thread and couldn't go any more. I bought this product and was amazed at how quickly I cut my threads. Ten minutes later I realized I should have gotten 1/2 20 instead of 1/2 28. That's what being in a hurry will get you. But the product worked well.

Great buy
Is much better quality than I was expecting.Cut Beautiful threads that fit my muzzle device perfectly. The only ding I can give is that both sides of the die are designed to start the cut, Not one side to start and the other to clean up the final threads as it should be. Nonetheless worked flawlessly and save me over $100 compared to a local gunsmith doing the same work. The die threads are still sharp and should cut several more times, the handle is well-made and strong and should last a long time.

Wroked great but...
I was apprehensive about doing this. It worked amazingly well but it took a lot more force than I was anticipating. I have tapped and threaded common bolt sizes and this is much larger than anything I've even done, so it may be normal. Having broke many more commonly sized taps and ruined some smaller tread jobs it was unnerving to apply that much force to a die (this is relative the amount of force was not excessive for opening a difficult jar of pickles, but for threading it seemed to be). Needless to say, it turned out great. Pro tip: USE LOTS OF CUTTING OIL

bad to begin with
I bought this in conjunction with a thread alignment tool. I can't even get the alignment tool to thread in and it is machined with 1/2x28 threads. I'm not even going to start to thread the barrel knowing the threads cutter is already off.

Clearly poor quality but it got the job done
Whatever coating they use on the handle threw it out of spec enough that the die could not fit in. I spent a few minutes running a file around the inside until it could drop in. Actual tool quality is poor but it was good enough to correct a thread that I boogered on an expensive barrel.
