Great version of an old game! (Think "cut-throat" monopoly.)
This has to be one of my most favorite games to play now! I bought this for my son for Christmas, as he loves games, Star Wars, and monopoly. He was immediately excited when he opened his gift. I promised to play a round with him that afternoon. I'm glad I did! (Keep in mind that I really do not like playing the traditional monopoly game.) The rules for this version allow for a MUCH SHORTER game than the original. Also, Hasbro has incorporated some really great Star Wars elements into the rules that make it even more fun. One of the additions is the ability to "use the force" to thwart your opponents. It allows for only 4 players, which was mildly disappointing, but doesn't detract from the fun. The four players belong to 1 of 2 opposing groups: the Rebel side or the Empire side. This pairs up 2 players so it has a multiplying negative effect on the opposing side, which adds to the fun. What makes this version shorter to play is that there is no going bankrupt; if you can't pay a fee, you simply keep your money but lose a base. The other rule that keeps the game much shorter is the game is over when all planetary systems have their available bases occupied. While there is the Rebel/Empire alliance between 2 players, the ultimate winner goes to the individual player with the most bases.Such a great version for this game!

A fast-paced Monopoly game for all Star Wars fans!
My boyfriend and I are huge star wars fans and we saw this in the store and thought it looked so cool that I ended up getting it here on amazon on sale. We couldn't wait to play it and once we opened it and started, it was apparent this was not like the classic monopoly. It took a bit of getting used to and it is a fast paced version of the classic monopoly game. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked that it was so short, but in retrospect, regular monopoly games especially among 2 players can last forever so this is a good one for those nights you want to relax, have some music on, chat and play a board game. You can really tell that they put a lot of thought into this new game though. Just cause it's faster paced, don't assume that means thrown together and sloppy. It was really well thought out and it's A LOT of fun to play. The new cards in this are really cool. There's an empire and rebel stack and each card has something on it for both (you read empire half if you're empire and vice versa). Though most cards are geared to screw the opposing side over (If you're empire and draw a rebel card), that is not always the case. Sometimes it does something in your favor.A lot of spots you are used to landing on in the classic monopoly games and other themed monopoly boards are not there. You get new things like Hyper Drive and Bounty Hunter. The only complaint I do have is that some things don't have rules yet so I'm not sure if they did that on purpose to just have the consumer make their own rules or what, but while we played we got into a bit of a dispute over what should be, lol. One thing is, you draw 3 cards from your own stack at the very beginning of the game and throughout the game you obtain cards as you land on the spots, however, what the gray area is is how many cards can you use in a turn. All it states is that if you use your card in the beginning of your turn, to make sure to roll after. Is there a one card limit per turn? What if you use a card in the beginning, you land on something that makes you do something to another player and they use a card against you or your action, can you counter it with a card you have in your hand or since you used a card in the beginning of your turn, you cannot use anymore?

you can make this a team game of good vs bad
finally, a version of "something" monopoly thats not just regular monopoly with the spaces named after "something". you can make this a team game of good vs bad, since its all about simply claiming more property than the other side. no fighting for "boardwalk" or trying to bankrupt everyone. you simply play until all places are bought, whichever side has the most wins. its hard to review since everyone likes different things. so i will just say it makes it more of a fun party game than a serious real estate game. also i recommend using lego star wars characters if you have any ^_^as for seller, item came quicker than said and was as described. would buy from again.

Better than the original Monopoly!
We played this game with our kids, and absolutely loved it! I love how they incorporate the actual characters as the player pieces. It has the same principals as monopoly, but everything is Star Wars related which is always a win. It also has imperial and empire cards which let you team up light/dark side and play against each other if you want. You get to buy spaces on planets, and rent them to those who land on those planets. Great game, we played twice in three days and can't wait to play again!

We play this and love it, especially as compared to regular Monopoly because it doesn't take nearly as long to complete a game. My little nephew loves it and doesn't get bored halfway through like regular Monopoly. The board and pieces are quality and it's fun because you actually play on teams, empire vs rebels. It works best if played with 2 or 4 players. 3 will feel uneven as you can team up at times, so keep this in mind. Otherwise, great game!

Very easy, short instruction booklet
Very easy, short instruction booklet. Less mess and cards than regular monopoly. You play in teams though, so although you *can* play 3 player, it's extremely unlikely that the odd player on their own team will win because they'll have 1 turn for the other team's 2. It's also a lot shorter than regular monopoly. Someone wins as soon as all the spaces are taken up, whoever owns the most spaces at that time wins. Also pretty easy to switch over bases, so it's not hopeless if you're not doing well. Played with my 8 year old and she did just fine
