Good product for a beginner
This was the first mic I bought for my YouTube channel. It is affordable and gets a good job done. I use it attached on my camera as well as for voiceovers and I can definitely tell a quality difference between my earphone mic vs this one. However, it does catch fan/ac noises and I often have to work on fixing them in my edit. So if you do sit down videos, I would recommend collar mics as they catch less ambient noises without needing to switch off your fan. But as a product this is a good one. It works on my nikon camera as well as my Android phone's camera and voice recorder. Although the phone wire doesn't work when it's plugged in all the way, and needs to be pushed only 90% in on the phone's port. If you face the same problem, I hope this helps.

Good microphone.
The microphone has a fairly good sound quality. I am using this in combination with zoom H1N recorder(for voiceover). This is slightly beyond the common phrase "value for money".. The only thing Boya can improve is the shock mount of this microphone, but that isn't a major issue. You have to wait a moment to settle the wobbly movement.

I have been using it for 2 years just for voice overs and it was giving me a pretty good voice over recording.

Don't Buy this product because it is Not working properly and Not record youre voice properly. Your mobile mic is better than this so don't waste your money

Best directional mic for beginners
This is the Boya MM1 mic I recieved on 8 August. When I connect it to my phone, sometimes it works, but most of the time the cable is faulty — it triggers random actions like taking pictures, adjustment of volume, enabling voice assistant and starting video recording by itself, I checked with many other devices..I got the damaged one 😅 I recorded this video to show that the mic is not working properly and the connection is unstable. I need a replacement.

Very good quality for the price I paid.

Great Product. Works perfect with my T5i DSLR. Sound Quality is very crisp and wind screen helps with outdoor audio. Shipping was fast and product came with no damage at all. Only problem I see in the future is the cradle for the microphone as it’s very flimsy and made of cheap plastic that may snap if too much pressure is applied but other than that, Great microphone. You get our Bang for the buck as this product is very worth it.
