Starts in seconds
These were recommended to me to start fires in my wood stove and boy do they work great. No more newspaper or a lot of kindling. Start the fire right up without having to fuss with it. Great product.

Been using this product for years. They’re great
Been using this product for years. They’re great. I have a fireplace insert stove in the living room and it heats the whole house. Normally only need half a disc to get the fire raging. Very satisfied with product.

They work. Makes the starting wood stove easier .
Follow instructions. It only takes a part of the starter to do the job. Have been cutting cedar for kindling many years. This eleminates that hassle

The best firestarters I've ever used
If you're in the market for a quality, reliable firestarter, then you can stop looking. This is it. It lights quickly, burns for about 10-15 minutes, and has a high enough flame to reach the kindling or bottom logs. No discernable smell and doesn't leave anything on your fingers or at the bottom of your fireplace. I break them apart and use two quarters to start each fire. There are a few minor things to improve. The wrapping is difficult to remove and can't be burned. Why not use lightly waxed paper or something other than plastic? The scoring they do is very light, so it can be hard to find and break apart evenly. Finally, they are really expensive - about a dollar per. Only the truly wealthy or the ridiculously lazy (me) will pony up for them.

Great for Warming a Cold Flue
I have a zero clearance fireplace with an insert. The chimney is poorly insulated and the stove pipe requires initial heating to prevent cold air blocking the updraft. In the past I lit paper and/or used a heat gun to heat the flue. This was awkward and messy and I would still get smoke in the room. These firestarters are great at providing the needed heat. I light a piece on the stove's back ledge when the flue is really cold or start a top down fire--no more smoke in the room! The four stars rather than five for ease of use is because the blocks are hard to split without crumbling (I cut the firestarter disks in quarters or thirds by hitting the back of a small ax with a mallet). Otherwise, the firestarters are easy to light and very efficient use. They are worth the price.

Easiest way to light a wood stove
A must, even if you have small kindling. One half is all you need. Obviously won't light large logs without something smaller underneath. Great product.
