I bought this Trojan Horse kit for my 69 year-old boyfriend for a 2018 xmas gift. He told me it was challenging to build but the instructions were clear and it all came together quite well. I wouldn't recommend this for a child of 8-12 unless he/she has lots of patience, as there is a lot of waiting time when the glue dries between each step of construction. But it is certainly a do-able project for children at that age if they have the patience, and if they get confused by the instructions, parental guidance will help! Last year I bought my boyfriend the catapult made by the same company, and he enjoyed building that, too, and he said it was less complicated to build than the Trojan horse. Yet he enjoyed building both equally. Both projects came out great!On a very plus side, my boyfriend and I do art and craft projects with my two older grandchildren (now ages 12 and 13) on a monthly basis, and I came up with the idea to make small Greek warriors out of air-dried clay to put inside the Trojan horse. Both of them enjoy making things out of clay, so that will be our next art project together!

So, I really liked this kit. All parts cut out well, smooth, everything fit. My 12 year old son and I put it together in about 2 - 3 hours. The only problem. We got all done and discovered there were no legs in the kit. Just a packaging error. Yes, we laugh about it now. I would still buy this product again, but I would open it earlier than the night before the project is due and I would check the parts.Some additional helpful tips:If you have a hot glue gun, use it. This will make assembly so much faster and easier.The directions are pretty good but pay attention to little things like where to place specific pieces with holes.The neck is a pain. It says "mirrored" in terms of each side reflecting itself. If I did this again, I would assemble the body of the horse, then put on the neck pieces to make sure I got the orientation right before assembling the whole neck. And yes, I am a pretty smart person, but two adults looked at this and we still messed it up.Bottomline, if you need a good 3D project for World History. Buy this and enjoy. Would give it 5 stars if the legs were there!! I contacted seller about this and they immediately refunded my money, so great customer service.

Just in case you don’t know you will be gluing when making this. Me personally I don’t like gluing models I feel that snap-together models will always have superior hold and sturdiness, however this product surprised me with how simple but engaging it is for a model I had to leave to dry multiple times. For kids this is a couple of days project for attentive adults you can knock it out I about 4 hours with some gorilla wood glue. I would not recommend using the glue provided.

Excellent kit. Fun to put together. If you are wondering how big the inside cavity is, I’m using the horse the hold a deck of magic the gathering playing cards in sleeves and it fits perfectly with no room left over.

The product looks great, it comes with clear instructions to built it, the glue, the threads and all, which is great, because once you open the package you're good to go.However I would have appreciated if the seller had protected the product better, because when I received it, it looked used, and since it's a present for a child, that's definitely not nice...Overall, though, I believe it's a great toy in many aspects. Thank you!

Has good directions, all parts fit beautifully together, and my thirteen-year-old great-granddaughter was very excited as she worked to assemble this project.

This was fun and easy. Due to dry time, it did take more than 2 hours, but well worth it.

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter. She has written the following:I love this horse so much! I took a bit more than 2 hours to make but the instructions were very clear. I really like this product and really recomend it. I think you can build most of it by yourself but I had a bit of help from my mother. There were no missing pieces.
