I used this HEI Electronic Ignition Spark Tester to check spark at the ends of my plug wires and also the coil and distributor cap. It worked good. The spark is easy to see using this tool so also it is easy to tell if you are not seeing spark as well.The metal of the spring-clamp part is very thin in one area and the clamp is pretty small so I can see where someone could break it trying to clamp onto something too wide for it to easily fit around. I could not find a good grounding spot on my engine to clip it to so I clamped a jumper-cable onto it to ground it and that worked well for me.

Easy To Use Ignition Spark Tester

Works but don’t expect the clip to last
The clip broke off the first time I used it so be ready with a set of jumper cables. I don’t think that was really unexpected. Otherwise it worked fine testing for spark or lack of spark on my 1998 mustang.

This is the thing that works really good to find if you have spark
Used it already on lawnmower, truck to find ignition problems / lack of spark. I recommend it , good visible spark too in day light also and it easily clamps to engine or any conductive part if it .

Ignition tester
Prompt shipping, item received in undamaged condition. Unfortunately I bought this to test spark plug/ignition on small air cooled engines and found it's not suitable for that as voltage isn't high enough to make it work. Might want to note that in the description. Decided to keep it anyway in case I need to test igntion on my auto. Bill
