Excellent entry level tablet
The tablet is excellent for reading which is the primary reason I got it. The 10" screen makes it easy to read with as does the 4:3 aspect ratio which most tablets lack. Another convenient feature is the full-size USB port which makes transferring files easier that other tablets lack as well. The Achos 97 also has an memory card expansion port(microSD) and a mini HDMI port. The tablet is responsive even though it only has 1Gz processor.Cons: It can't handle full 1080p video but I can stream 720p videos to the tablet with my media player just fine. 1080p is useless on a 10" screen though. If you intend to play videos, then I wouldn't recommend it because it isn't widescreen but the size is perfect for reading which I believe is a lot more significant. It is not meant for playing graphic intensive games. 2D games work perfectly. The front facing camera will sometimes produce lines. Restarting the tablet corrects this. A minor annoyance, probably a defect. Battery life seems low.I highly recommend it for reading and web-browsing. It has a full set of features at a good price. Android is less restrictive compared to iOS and the Android market has many apps now.

Archos 97 Carbon
This tablet is nicely built. While it's sold as a low end tablet, the IPS screen is quiet nice, and it comes with GPS. The biggest problem with this tablet is the storage partition. The internal storage which is default location for the apps, has only 512mb. This is extremely small. Even though most apps can be moved to the partition labeled as "SD-Card", the apps still requires a portion of the space in the internal storage partition. Also, the download and installation steps must take place in the internal storage first. When the internal storage falls below the required size by the particular app, the installation will fail.Unless Archos changes this, and or if you plan on having a very small amount of apps, it's not worth considering this device.

Good bargain tablet
I bought this tablet for my aunt and she is very satisfied. The display and touchscreen respond well and the processor speed is fast. My only complaint would be the sound. It is rather muffled and I haven't figured out if it can be configured to be clearer and louder.Fast forward four months and the tablet is showing the black screen of death. It just won't switch on. The charging light is working but we can see nothing on the screen.

Micro USB OTG Port Is Slave Only - It is not fully functional.
It seems like a nice tablet, but it doesn't do what I bought it for. Be aware that the specs don't mention the micro USB OTG port is a SLAVE ONLY port. It cannot serve as a Host port. Lots of software for Tablets is written for the micro USB OTG port to be the only connection to the outside world for you to connect a flash drive, keyboard, mouse, external GPS antenna, etc. Most tablets the micro USB OTG can be a Host or a Slave port. This tablet cannot do that and there is no way to tell the operating system to look at the full size USB port instead. Lots of aggravation and frustration, looking at online forums to learn this. If you don't want to connect anything to it, then it is probably a perfectly good tablet. I need to connect peripherals to it so for me it is a dud.

Archos 9 inch Tablet
Great! My Grandson loves it... it does everything he wants it to do, internet access, games, music, movies, and there has been no delay with any of the apps

Good tablet
Its an OK tablet, not excellent, but it works. Sometimes goes slow and storage is small. Cameras very low quality and sound is not loud enough to ear a movie, you have to use earphones! I have watched a couple of movies from the Internet and the quality is good.

Good but notgreat
Good for the price but a little light in the speed department. 500 MB system memory creates a challenge installing apps - getting too many "insufficient storage" alerts.

FALSE ADVERTISING
I was disappointed to find out that the actual RAM is 500MB and NOT 1GB as advertised. The system is slow and never has sufficient space to install any apps.MJ
