When I came across the listing for these SYLVANIA Brand Smart Lights I actually thought it was a pricing mistake, so naturally I purchased 2 sets as quickly as I could and then just hoped they would show up, and that they would be remotely close to what was advertised. I had very low expectations because most of my house is filled with very expensive Philips Hue smart bulbs and products, and something similar to this from Philips Hue would start easily at 500 bucks, and then probably end up a lot more when all said and done...I am happy to say that my assumptions were all wrong. These lights are fantastic!First and foremost, this brand of lights is legit. SYLVANIA is a great brand for lighting and makes quality stuff. And at this price, you literally cannot go wrong. The cheap knock off brands are the same price or more, and as I said earlier, the Philips Hue branded ones are crazy expensive, so if you are even slightly debating getting these, just pull the trigger and thank me later.The seller was Great, and provided fast shipping that had my lights show up days before the estimate given in the order.Light Quality & Install:BRIGHT!Like way brighter than expected. They synced to SmartThings immediately, control is easy and the lighting spectrum is huge.Took my first two sets that arrived and combined them into one longer set. This is very easy, literally unscrew a cap on the end of one set, screw the second set into that end, and boom!, twice the length of lights.After that I pushed them into the ground (they are all on little stakes) and that was it: Beautiful, fully installed, incredibly customizable, all seasons waterproof accent lighting. Very Awesome....After recieving my first two sets and seeing the high quality of the lights and the way they looked, I immediately purchased two more kits right away.Overall I couldn't be happier with all 4 of my products. If you are reading reviews, it means you have at least some interest in this product, and if that's the case then you should buy these. There is no way you will be disappointed!

These lights need a hub. I have never been so frustrated with these lights trying to connect it. The gateway, zigbee hub, smart hub, RGB and RGBW compatible remote control and all available apps to connect the lights are not working, not compatible, in my case. I tell you my experience. I spent weeks, hours reading reviews and even returned the lights and ordered new ones thinking they didn't work. And nothing, but nothing worked. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But I didn't want to give up. The lights look great even though they were only white. Until I decided to make my last attempt with "HUBITAT" and yes! it finally worked. And finally I was able to connect it without any problem.📍How it works, step by step on Hubitat.⬇️press tools⬇️Connect to hub⬇️Device⬇️Add device⬇️Find by brand⬇️Generic/Other⬇️bulb ⬇️Generic zigbee RGBW Light⬇️ and there you press+ Start zigbee pairing.I wish someone had explained step by step how to connect it to Hubitat. It's really very frustrating, having no idea how to do it and trying to do it with all these other hubs that don't really work. Again I speak from my own experience. Good luck.

These lights worked right out of the box with ConBee II and Home Assistant.Some of the lights looked as if they were separating from their caps, which might be a problem if they get wet. Nothing some adhesive couldn't fix, but still noteworthy.A big downside is the lack of a true white, which causes some color bleed.

I used this as general lighting for the path to my front door since we are renting and our landlord never fixes anything and I couldn’t see without using the flashlight on my phone. The setup was super easy, I set them on a timer with Alexa, the price is great considering comparable lighting with smart home features. Extension kits are available as well. I didn’t set them up very fancy, I just stuck them in the ground with the attached stakes but they still look great with a lazy setup. They’re quite small but very bright.

Sylvania smart lights have come a long way in the last couple years. I'm not referring to the hardware but instead the software relative to smart home control. I have a samsung smartthings hub and also use alexa and google home for voice control. 2-3 years ago Sylvania lights would rarely work with any automation or turn off or on from direct control and commands. Now they work flawlessly. Also, Phillips hue is pretty much the only alternative for compatible outdoor smart lights but they are 5-10 times as expensive as sylvania...so if u r wondering if the price tag is too good to be true on these string lights, it is not. Take my word for it. Actually wrote a really bad review for some sylvania lights years ago so I felt the need to write this review. I'm happy that some companies listen to their customers.
