As is typical, Schiffer publications are of a high quality production. Photographs are reproduced in exacting clarity, making the items as close as you get to touching them. In this volume, Jeff Clark has been able to assemble an extensive collection of related uniform pieces that is amazing, especially given the "de-nazification" programs initiated by the Allies after WWII, where such historical things were destroyed.Further, his text explaining the para-military rank structure of these largely political/government entities (non-military), opens the door to a whole new arena of understanding what is seen . . . be it in museums, collections, original photographs, or film. I highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to better understand what the common German civilian of this era was surrounded by on a daily basis . . . and the greater influence it had on the population.

I used this book for research regarding the rise of the Nazi party during the 30th into the 40. I found the book informative and comprehensive on this subject. I would recumind this works for any one studying this period of history.

Another winner from schiffer publishing company. They always seem to put out the best reference books in the third reich area. While i'm not a collector of uniforms, I do enjoy studying the photographs and info in this book. This reference covers a great portion of the nsdap uniforms and has excellent photos to show in the field and being displayed in private collections. Although i have more of an interest in the german armed forces rather than the beureaucrats, I still find this interesting, and this would go well with any other reference material for uniforms and regalia.

I have seen few reference books with such outstanding photography and informative text. Truly a superior work!

It’s a good book lots of pictures but maybe it’s just me but I felt that it was a bit confusing the way it chooses to describe the awards uniforms etc like they’ll be 40 different shoulder boards on just two pages with very slight differences and the book does do great detail in describing which one was worn in which period or was continued to be worn after a change etc etc however it doesn’t do a super great job of explaining the differences and what kinda bothered me a little I wished it would delve a bit deeper into who exactly (meaning position not exact person) wore what and a simpler when and the awards which was the smallest section in the book and I feel like was an important one was majorly lacking especially some if not most just had the name of the award and didn’t say who or for what it was given which highly disappointed me. Put it this way it’s a good book if your say a collector or reenactor/Hollywood dresser and you need to get the right piece of uniform for a particular date in history for that it’s great but as far as a learning tool on the grand scale of all parts of the nsdap uniform I particularly felt it was necessary to buy another book just on the hats of the nsdap and the awards of the nsdap also im pretty sure the info says it but In case you missed it this book only covers the nsdap party none of the ss or Kriegsmarine Luftwaffe Heer or any other part of the Wehrmacht I just wanted to let you know in case anyone wasn’t for sure

Very informative and collectable book written by a most informed author.A must for those interested in the NSDAP days during the 3rd Reich.

I dont collect Uniforms but this book is a must for the collector of political TR items. A beautiful book with great photos, my wife who is not into TR items commented the book was stunning.This is well laid out and easy to understand.A great book and a must have.

The photos are large and clear. The details are profuse. I used this as reference for a political illustration where pinpoint accuracy was paramount. This book filled the bill. I realize the applications for such a text are limited. However when you need the information you need it. I would recommend this book unequivocally to anyone who needs this specific information. It is informative and very well formatted.

The research of the subject is intense and complete. This book is the most lavishly photographed and produced text it has been my experience to purchase Although its subject is questionable the detail cannot be bettered. An ' under the coffee table book' it has explored, discovered and displayed almost every facet of the NSDAP, its multiple organisations incredible layers of ranks, its uniforms and accoutrements. Most certainly a five star study of the subject.
