3 Epiphyllum Orchid Cactus Night Blooming Cereus Hookeri Strictum cuttings

This plant is actually a orchid cactus. It comes from the company with 4-5 leaves to propagate into the and take root into the soil. It takes quite awhile for this plant to grow and produce its beautiful fragrant flower. The flower starts out as a red alien looking pod attached to the edge of one of the leaves. The pod will slowly grow and have to be closely watched because once the pod opens it doesn't stay open or produce more flowers. Out of the pod comes a beautiful fragrant white Lacey looking bloom. In this large bloom it's said to be the nativity scene. Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus lying in the manger with a star over his head. Many people know this plant as the NIGHT BLOOMING SERIES. Be prepared because once it blooms during the night the pod will wither up around the flower and it dies.

I ordered these and my order had some issue and did not arrive. I contacted seller, and they immediately shipped to me again, with 2 extra cuttings to make up for the delay in getting them. Beautiful thick cuttings. 4 of the 5 have sprouted, and I expect the 5th will as well. (The last 2 got damaged by me) Update: The fifth cutting has sprouted too.

They died.

Not at all what I expected! You get 2 leaves in a plastic bag with no directions! The 2 leaves are about 2-3 inches long- so yes they are cuttings! Little cuttings! Sure hope this works! Lesson- read description, but this was still way smaller than said! Not worth 22.00!!!

Very nice and big cuttings. I planted them in a pot and put at a sunny location. They all rooted well, and already started growing! I am planning to go back and buy more cuttings.

The clippings were very short and the instructions were not clear as to what I should do with them. Should I root them in water or dirt. I could not reach the company by phone.

The leaf cuttings were very large and healthy. They should produce nice plants. Much larger then other suppliers.

This plant arrived in healthy condition but was as far as cutting go. They should never be small than 6” but better if a couple inches larger. Some sellers try to get as many cuttings as possible instead of giving the customer what they deserved and paid for. Please don’t get me wrong they were healthy so I’ll still give 5 stars but would have been better for the plant if it was a little longer. By the pictures you can see the two in the middle are much smaller than the ones I ordered later from other sellers. Everyone of them are at least 4” taller than these.
