A bit odd
The Zanzibar Wife was this month's Book Club selection, and I think it may be what is called 'women's lit', or similar. It's all about the journey, finding yourself apparently, and it even has discussion questions at the end. It started out ok, but lost touch with reality first with the character Ariana, who was waaaay over the top and utterly incredible, then with the magic. Seriously, we're meant to suspend disbelief and accept that photos magically appear on a camera? For a book which started out well it didn't seem to know which direction to take. It's really neither romance nor paranormal, and unfortunately descended into farce. I can't recommend it. Disappointing, because it certainly had potential.

A captivating story that takes you on a virtual tour of other lands and cultures.
A fast read. The story contains all the elements of life (drama, humor, tragedy, bliss, mystery) delivered through the eyes of three women who could not be more different from one another culturally and personally. The women find themselves questioning long-held beliefs as they are forced to rely on each other due to unexpected circumstances. The male characters are worthy, too, adding variety, spice and insight. I wanted the story to go on beyond the last page.

It's just another airport pot boiler ...
This book was suggested by my Book Club ... I din't like to read 'airport books' which is what this was .. totally unbelievable .. I lived in Oman and Dubai .. I considered it a waste of time and will delete this book from my library.
