A nice, long overcoat which has a classic, retro look and a generous long fit.I'm 6'3" and normally buy a 42L jacket (occasionally a 44L if they are small made). I went for the 44 as I wear this over a suit and the sizing was right for me. A good length, it comes just below the knee on me. The sleeves are long and about right for me, but as they are guantlet cuffs, it would be a very simple job to adjust them either way by a couple of inches.First thing to do is to steam the coat to take out all the postage creases. It really benefits from this and sits well and looks very smart. It's substantial, warm and well made. Too early to say how durable it will be, but I would expect this to last years if looked after as it is easily the same quality as my previous 10 year old jacket.The only suggestions I would make to improve this are firstly don't fully stitch the maker's label on the the cuff; it's a pain to get it off. Secondly, this would benefit from a large hidden pocket on the inside towards the bottom of the jacket. These are minor points and wouldn't stop me giving this a 5* rating.

Dare to be different, wear this overcoat. PS, wear the coat with a Russian hat and you will look like a million roubles.

The coat material is warm and thick. It has a real chunky winter overcoat feel. I bought to wear over a suit so i sized up and this fits well.The coat I received suffers from poor quality button fastenings and this detracts from the satisfaction. I started wearing the coat two weeks ago as the cold weather started and already 2 of the large exterior buttons have fallen off. Upon examination I note that the third button is only attached through 2 of the four button holes by a flimsy piece of thread. Had they been sewn on properly all the buttons would still be firmly attached. Not what I expected from something branded as 'platinum'.The one other minor niggle is the platinum taylor logo stitched into the left sleeve. Makes it very hard to remove cleanly and it's not exactly a discrete label.Overall I'd say its a good buy but for the price the quality leaves something to be desired.Don't get me wrong this is a nice coat but it could have been a great coat with a little attention to detail on quality.

I love my coat.Today's fashion in the shops is gimpy short length and pointless overcoats that simply are a waste of money. This coat is fantastic and I bought it just in the nick of time as we are now in the grip of a bitter windy freezing long winter. Don't leave home without it!

Good quality winter weight overcoat. I found it to be on the large side. I usually buy a 42 jacket and 32 trouser so bought the 42 coat but it was too large. I could have worn another coat underneath (as well as a shirt and suit jacket) as there was plenty of space. The coat would be better if it was tapered in at the waist as it looked very loose fitting on me. So I'd you've got an athletic build it's probably not the best coat for you. The sleeves are quite long too so you may need to get these taken up unless you have long arms!! The buttons look good quality and the lining looks smart. It is a decent length, reaching to mid calf on me.

I've been looking for a properly long coat like this for ages. This turned out to be exactly what I was after -- fits perfectly, a good heavy coat for January, and it looks very smart. Excellent service from the vendor: prompt replies to my emails and, when I originally ordered the wrong size, I had the replacement within a couple of days.

Lovely coat, finally found something that fits my 6’6” frame without looking like a donkey jacket. Comes down just below my knee. Added bonus that it makes my mother in law look the dungeon master.

A very well designed long winter coat. I didn't find it too large. It has long sleeves but in my case that's ok as I have long arms. The little downsides are: 1. It has a strong manufacturing smell that takes a long time to go. 2. As others have said stitching the name to a cuff is inconvenient and unnecessary. We know it is made by Platinum Tailor. If we forget there are three stitchings inside to remind us.3. The epaulettes didn't sit properly and had to be stitched

Mio figlio ha apprezzato molto. Tessuto di ottima qualità, giusta vestibilità. Solo le maniche risultano un po' lunghe ma facilmente sistemate.

This coat has thus far lasted me a Kansas City winter quite well. It is quite warm and holds onto body heat quite well. However, there's a small catch to this. That is that you need to have built up body heat for it to hold onto, or be wearing a sweater/blazer/suit coat under it (I've only worn it with flannel shirts and a scarf so far because I'm from a cooler climate and don't need many layers or much thickness in them).If you put this coat on over something light and step out into something like 20 degrees Fahrenheit with wind, and you have to wait for a bus and are just standing there, you're going to feel some of that wind and cold through the coat.If you, on the other hand, have to walk at least 5-10 minutes in that weather, you're going to be fine from the shoulders to the knees (of course, provided you have a scarf to keep the wind from going down your chest).

Very long sleeve length and could have another row of buttons at the bottom. Also the lapels do t close evenly at the neck. A button to close neck would be great.

The tags on the outer service of the coat are attached so well that it is hard to remove them without slight damage to the coat. Don't do it yourself (I tried) have a professional tailor do it. You will be happy.
