The media could not be loaded.  The product description lists multiple times the items needed for the system to function but I’ll leave my items here:- Waterproof box for batteries- 2x 12v 12ahr batteries(connected in series)- A pack of connectors for splicing wires- the Topens automatic gate lockI used my fairly standard set of woodworking and electrical tools( wire cutter/crimper, drill screws ect) and a general knowhow and was able to work through the steps in the manual and online videos.Overall installation was as expected, I built the gate shown above and anchored the support posts, ect, so the gates not being totally plumb is on me.My key takeaways is that its essential to ensure the systems arm is fully retracted when the doors are in the open position in a pull to open gate.Overall wiring was very simple, and construction only took a couple days while working full time. The other reviews are correct in that the remote functions at a far greater range than advertised.The system is excellent and I highly recommend to anyone looking for ease of access in their gate.

This company does NOT offer any good support. They put a phone number down and then there it says to ONLY EMAIL your question. Well that's dumb since the electrician installing can't always keep coming back after they give up one day and come again the next incase somebody from TOPENDS does email them back. They lose money!!! Other companies let you talk to a technical support person. This gate opens part way with one gate the other gate doesn't open at all but you hear the motor running! So might be my unit is defective! Got damaged in shipping or something but with nobody to talk to how do I even know?

After installing the system it works as advertised. Some of the instructions are not great. Adjustment of the arms was a bit of trial and error. When first installed it blew fuses. Customer service was very helpful and got me a new circuit board very quickly and resolved the problem. Overall pretty happy with the results.

The media could not be loaded.  I’ve had this gate installed for about 2 weeks and have been very pleased. I bought the heavy duty dual swing openers with the solar package. Install was relatively straightforward (after watching a few YouTube videos to make sure I had everything figured out). Support through topens is incredibly helpful and quick to respond. I paired this with an automatic gate lock (not shown in the above video) and used two 7amp batteries (wired to make 24V). I would highly recommend this product

Love this gate opener. I got the solar verison that works well when there is good sun but once fall came it could not charge the battery so I added the power supply. I also add the locked so the two gates line up nicely when the gate is closed. I also added the wired keypad as I think it looks much nicer than the wireless version.

Great gate opener but the solar system is not for the Northwest USA. Often we get grey cloudy days and with 3-5 in a row it will not work. Thought it was the batteries so I changed them after 10 months. I was charging them and rotating them but it is a real hassle, the solar just isn't dependable for my climate. Now I've changed it over to the DSP180-U ac/dc to avoid the solar charging issues. Running a multi meter the solar says it puts out enough voltage , but I think our cloudy days are a hamper so ac/dc should resolve this.I have recommended this unit to neighbors. The solar is better suited for the southern parts of the USA. Topens should make it an option to get the unit with or without the unit.

I was afraid it would suffer from lack of sun in Michigan winters. We use it 4-8 times a day, had snow on the solar panels many times. It seems to keep going and maintain charge with only a few hrs a week of sun. It's a bit slow (takes 24secs to fully open) and the remote needs more range(only works for about 30ft). I tend to push the button and have to wait for it to open because if that. It's been a great upgrade to my yard. No real complaints or problems. Settings are pretty straight forward, has safteys so it stops when it hits things, easy setup.
