Disappointed with refurbished projector

Ordered a refurbished projector. Purposely paid more for a higher quality used machine. Unfortunately when I turned it on the display was upside down. I attempted to access the menu button the button on the machine had no effect. I put batteries in the remote and it too was inoperable. It was very discouraging since I was going to use it for an upcoming milestone birthday party for my wife and it was too late to order a replacement.
