Tiny and mighty!
I purchased this adapter for China/Asia trip and it was indispensable. Not only is the voltage different (220v 50hz China versus 120v 60hz US), there are THREE different types of plugs used in China - US style double flat plugs, EU/UK style double round plugs, and the double/triple slanted flat plugs used in Australia and New Zealand.Luckily this adapter is able to tackle both the voltage problem as well as all three plugs. The adapter has plugs for US, EU, and AUS pins so I could find power no matter which kind of outlet I was faced with. Furthermore the integrated USB ports allowed me to charge multiple devices at the same time and let me keep the large rear outlets for laptops instead of using it for USB power bricks for phones and cameras.I also owned the previous older version of this adapter and find this new updated version with USB ports to be slightly smaller which is great for travel. The adapter is not without its faults though. One issue that is consistent with both the older version and the newer version is that the plugs are not well refined and engaging and retracting the plug pins can be difficult. Often the pins get stick and the mechanisms to engage and retract the pins get stuck and you'd have to jiggle them to get them to work again. Since there are so many plugs in the adapter, I can understand that the mechanism for engaging them is overly complicated and prone to failure. This new version has a button to retract/release but even that is not always perfect. It seems the mechanism s not built for tight tolerances or the materials used flex or move too much to be consistent. The USB ports also were too tight and my USB cables would get stuck and would require a lot of force to loosen them.Overall though the mechanisms often get stuck, it's functional albeit with a little bit of frustration.

Mystery Button -- not mentioned in instructions
So, it turns out there's a button on the side of this---that the instructions only mention in relation to changing the fuse.WELL! It turns out, pushing it releases/unlocks whichever plug you've activated, causing that plug to retract into the housing and its corresponding slide button to go back in line with the others.I learned this the hard way, meaning as soon as this gadget arrived, I started playing with the slides, to idiotically enjoy seeing the different plugs pop in and out of the thing. (I'm easily entertained.)I thought I'd broken it, so I ordered another one since I was leaving the US in two days and promised myself not to play around with the new one. When using it overseas, it got stuck "open" again, with the plugs poking out and no way for me to move the slides to retract the plugs. Thankfully, I was apparently holding it in such a way that I accidentally pushed this mystery button -- which the instructions had led me to believe was only there to access the fuse. Nope. It retracts the plugs.I'm not usually this operationally inept, but the instructions are misleading and I wanted to be sure everyone else knows about this mystery button so when you play with it (it's oddly satisfying), you won't think you broke yours. Also, it's lightweight and worked well for both plugs and USBs in multiple countries. Highly recommended!

Loved the universal feature of this device.
This worked well with all of my devices - some with USB and some that needed to be plugged in - when plugged in to something horizontal. If the plug-in was on a wall, there were times when it was too heavy to stay plugged in.

does not do the job
This one works both with European standard and English outlets (and American). I haven't used it enough to test durability, though. I do wish it had one more USB slot. It is a little bulky due to the apparatus required to support both English and European plugs, so if you don't need English, you could get one more compact. After some additional tests, I have a big problem. Using a usb-a to usb-c cable that is known to work, this simply does not charge my iPad, which has only a usb-c port. I tested both ports and multiple cables without success even after leaving it connected overnight.
