Purchased to place in a wheelchair. Is very firm but yet soft. Love that it came with an additional cover for between washes. Great buy for the money.

This seat cushion consists of 3-inch basic foam, with a thin satin-finish inner cover, and a rugged poly mesh outer zippered cover. I believe the original posting said this was memory foam, and there is still a reference to memory foam in the description. It is not memory foam as far as I can tell. It is more like the basic foam seat cushions used for stadium cushions, boating, golf carts, etc. That said, it is supportive, and holds its shape well. The outer cover is sturdy, well-finished/sewn, and breathable, with the mesh. The inner cover is very thin and fragile, and meant more as a dust cover. I accidentally sliced right through it when I was unboxing the cushion. The large size of the cushion is good for coverage, but too large to fit in most standard chairs and seats. All this to say, it's good if it's what you need, but not super versatile for a ton of applications.

I am sitting on this cushion right now which I NEEDED BADLY for years and years and years. My desk chair is an oak-framed chair that began life as a waiting room chair in some military facility, because I purchased it almost 3 decades ago for probably $5 or $10 at a military base surplus sale facility. The original upholstery, and my own amateur re-upholstery work, is long since utterly worn out--and I have a noticeable permanent deformation of the muscle in my right leg from a pressure point caused several years back by sitting cross legged on it. Up until I got this new cushion, my right foot would frequently fall asleep from the pressure of sitting cross legged on the thrift store chair cushion I've had on it. It's such a sturdy, stable chair, and I need to be able to stand on it to turn off the smoke alarm, I am also so used to sitting cross-legged at my desk that I don't want any different chair, I want to adapt this one so it doesn't hurt me. Finally I have the solution. This pad allows me to sit cross-legged on my chair like I do, without making a pressure point. It's sufficiently firm, yet yields enough to prevent damaging my leg muscle or cutting off the circulation in my leg. The gripper dots on the bottom prevent it from moving around when it shouldn't, but the fact that it stays on with gripper dots rather than ties means that when I need to climb on the chair in a hurry to get to my smoke alarm I can easily toss the cushion on the floor without delay. The one downside is it is thick so it sits me up higher than I would necessarily prefer to be. But I guess I care more about the circulation to my foot. This is absolutely worth the money for me (I wish I'd bought one of these before my leg got damaged by my chair!), but the sad thing is, I never would have bought this because I live on disability and I am reluctant to spend $30 on something that I'm not sure it will really solve the problem. I would have kept going back to the thrift store for whatever kind of random chair pads I could find there. But this thick memory foam pad really has solved my problem. I was blessed to receive this for FREE via Amazon Vine in exchange for my honest review. I am very appreciative for it. Now I know this item is what I've needed all along and I would not hesitate to re-order this with my own money whenever the foam starts wearing out. This is THE ONLY chair in my small efficiency apartment, except for 2 chairs that are permanently used to hold stacked storage milk crates. For decades, for hours every day, I have been sitting on this one chair that has been hurting me. I used other pads and my foot was still falling asleep. THANK YOU.

Very thick and comfortable chair pad. My son uses it in his gaming chair. Very firm and adds height since it is so thick. Pretty big size....I had initially got it to use in a vehicle seat but it's too large for that.
