バイクでキャンプツーリングを数年やってきましたが手斧にはまだ手を出しておらず、バイク乗りならやっぱりハスクでしょうという事で、昨今の物価高で手斧の値段も上がってきていると感じ思い切って購入。 手にもしっくり馴染む質感で気に入りました。 薪割りはもちろん、反対側でペグ打ちしたり空き缶に穴をあけたり。 使いやすいですし重さも程よく振り回せばトレーニング感もあります。 切れ味も特に気になりませんが刃を研いで盛りキャンプ公平さんみたいに手斧を包丁のように使ってみたくもあります。

針葉樹なら問題無く割れます ただ紅葉樹だと、なかなか割れない 何処のメーカーの斧も一緒かも知れません

7-inchナイフでバトニング（薪割）してました。針葉樹は大したことはない。広葉樹も7-inchナイフでなんとなる。でも針葉樹よりも明らかに硬いので自分がつかれるし手も痛い。 ということでこの手斧を購入。うん、持ってみると高校生の頃薪割していたことを思い出すような懐かしい感触（この斧は短いけどね）。価格が安いのが驚き！

男性であれば、握りやすい太さにはなっていると思う。木がむき出しなので手が小さくて悩んでいる方は滑り止めがついた軍手などを使うといいと思います。持ち手の曲線がよく考えられています。

研げるから別に良いかなって思ったけど、凸凹過ぎない❓ クレーターみたいにボコボコしてる部分が有る😅‪‪研ぎもあまいし、偽物❓って疑いたくなるレベル…… 一気に修正すると減ってしまうので、徐々に修正していこうと思う……

これに決めて大変良かったです。やっぱりスウェーデン鋼は違います。

軽くて使いやすい。未だ慣れないので細かい薪しか切れないが良く切れる。

キャンプにてモーラナイフのカービングナイフベーシックと合わせて使うのに、こちらのハイキング手斧が絶妙なサイズと思い購入してみました。 実物を持ってみると想像以上に手に馴染む絶妙な重さと大きさで使うのが楽しみです。 刃付けが少し甘かったため研ぎ直しました。 また、持ち手が乾燥していたため、オレンジオイルを塗ったところ質感がとてもよくなりました。 はじめはナイフ一本主義に憧れてモーラナイフのガーバーグを使用していましたが、万能ゆえに自分のスタイルではどの作業も絶妙にやりにくかった。 そこで、トライスティックや料理など細々した作業はステンレスのカービングナイフで行い、ハイキング手斧で薪割りや木の大まかな加工を行うという具合に使い分けたいと思い購入しました。 使うのが楽しみです。

Wow what a great axe!! If you don't recognize the brand, they make chainsaws. These axes are made by Hultafors Burks, who makes some amazing axes. These axes, however are much much cheaper than the regular Hultafors Burks. How are they so cheap?? Well, they do lack a certain amount of polish. The axe head itself is not as sharp and may need a resharpening if you dont want the carpenter axe edge. The axe head is not as polished, and the handle is not as nicely finished. For me, the decrease in cost is well worth it though. Sharpening the axe was easy, and not necessary. The head looks great unpolished, and works just as good. The handle is comfortable and works great as it is. I may decide to stain it, or burn it, or oil it later, so a cheaper axe to play with is a pro. My father in law is very jealous of my axe (he is a fiskars fan) and borrows it every chance he can get. Anyways, the point of all of this is that you can have an amazing swedish axe for barely more than a cheap hardware store axe. It is a bit rough, but it is meant to be used, not started at. As for the shape and size of this bad boy, you can still use it one handed, like a hatchet, but the heavy axe head does make it a bit hard. The Beard makes it a good bushcraft axe though, and I found it great for climbing trees, and even more than good at roughing wood to be carved. The handle is just long enough to get a good two hand grip. Works for chopping and splitting. A longer handle would be better for doing a bunch of splitting, but I find this one more than adequate, and much more compact. Like I said, you can swing it one hand still, and is great for knocking off branches from a fallen tree.
