Solid Performance and Reliability for any car
Optima Yellow top is the absolute best battery you can put in your vehicle. And I will tell why ... I put them in all my cars. I have had 6 cars carry the yellow top. They have the cranking power to turn over high compression v-8's and just recently installed two into my dad's 2000 Ford F350 Powerstroke 7.3 Diesel. My last yellow top battery lasted 7 years (most batteries last 4-5 years tops), and this battery was used in my 1995 Jeep Wrangler off-road trail rig running a 8000lb winch, 6 off road lights and a stereo with amps and subs. The yellow top is a duel cycle battery. Meaning it is both a starting battery and a deep cycle battery. As a deep cycle battery it will withstand regular discharging and recharging without damage. Where normal batteries will go deceased from multiple discharges/charges. Also these a gel batteries which can be mounted in any position and will not leak. They also withstand vibration better tham common lead-acid batteries which is the most common cause of death to a battery. As a bonus , because they are sealed hydrogen gas will not form over the battery making them safer and corrosion resistant. Stay away from the Red Top , I have tried them 3 times now and they only lastabout a year before a cell goes dead ... at least that has been my experience. I have heard some people with red top lasting 6+ years, others say the same as myself and had problems.Pro tip -Use Solid Zinc Military battery terminals for solid performance and reliabilty.

Awesome Battery - Worth the Extra Money
I put this battery in my 1990 Jeep Wrangler, which is a weekend toy that I hardly use. I often go months without starting it. It takes a good bit of cranking to get the gas up to the carburetor and this battery has no problem cranking for minutes after lying dormant for a long time.

This battery is coming up on 5 years, constantly being drained and still kicking.
Overall, this battery has been reliable and it seems I got a decent one, even though I've killed this battery multiple times over the years by draining it by accident, letting it sit too long without starting and maintaining, or other ordinary situations. I probably need to replace it by now, but as long as I keep an eye on the battery being charged between starts, it continues to function.I didn't know 5 years ago that there was any issue with these batteries being made in Mexico and of lesser quality control, but mine is one of those and has been working great compared to conventional lead acid batteries. 5 years ago I paid almost 100 dollars less than the current price, so I'm not so sure I'd buy another one at these prices, and I'd explore other reliable AGM options first. However, I got a very well performing D34 yellow top to start a 40 year old Jeep that was never a daily driver, and although Amazon says it won't fit my vehicle, it fits an AMC FSJ perfectly.Whenever I had the chance to keep the battery on a maintainer/charger for a week or two between starts, I did. Over 5 years that 15 or so year old charger didn't seem as effective so I recently got a new smart charger that has an AGM Mode to see how much more life this Optima battery still has in it. I have my doubts that it's holding its original charge that it had when it was new, so I'll have to check it but as long as it isn't drained it still starts the 360 V8 in cold winter below 30 degrees. The old truck definitely seems to slowly discharge the battery when it sits, so maintenance is a must.I've brought this battery back from an almost completely dead state a few times using a slow recharge, so I've been satisfied with the resilience of the battery design and the extra deep cycle cranking amps. An ordinary battery would have been wrecked and maybe would need some expert regeneration techniques just to perform like this one has without having to take it out of the engine bay.If I could get another one that works like this one did for the same price it was 5 years ago, I would.

13 months and it died - NO WARRANTY
I live in Phoenix, its HOT here. The battery performed great untill.... It got really hot this summer and was getting really drained only starting it up once a week. It then suddenly died. It draws way to much current charging and then immd self discharges. This is while out of the car. Considering the price of this battery and that I usally get 2-3 years from a normal battery, getting 1 year was really bad performance. It might be poor lifetime in hot environments. Contacting Optima they told me I had to take the battery to a Optima dealer, have them test it and then i could start a warranty process with Amazon. Amazon however does not do the mfgr warranty for Optima. Optima told me I could ONLY get this replaced if i went thru Amazon and Amazon will not do it. SO. ALL OPTIMA PRODUCTS SOLD THRU AMAZON EFFECTIVLY HAVE NO WARRANTY.

Excellent performance
Best investment in 1990 Ford plus add the charger that supports this type of battery. Easy install, best performance for that type of electronics. Best thing is no acid leaks or damage from leaks and vapors. Battery box looks like new.
