I have gotten by for years with a collection of loose sockets in one of the drawers in my tool chest. When I would open the drawer they would roll around and mix together. It usually took me longer to find the correct size than it did to complete the task I needed the tool for. After some serious frustration trying to remove a battery clamp from my car I decided to look for a way to get organized. I found the Mechan organizer on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It was delivered promptly and came with a bag of extra 1/2 inch clips. I put all of my sockets into a grocery bag, brewed a cup of coffee, and went to work. After an hour I was happy with my arrangement. The deep sockets require that you use a fairly deep drawer which I had. There was plenty of room for my entire collection including metric and standard and my deep sockets in both styles. I had to lay one oversize deep socket on its side. My (hopefully) attached photo should show how I arranged everything. The Mechan kit holds the sockets very securely but they are easy to remove. I wouldn't hesitate to hang the kit on a wall. I would definitely recommend this tool to my friends. One small issue: I would have appreciated extra clips in 1/4 and 3/8 inches. Not a big deal.

This is a fantastic product! I bought a Craftsman set years ago but the case was terrible, so I stopped using the case and bought a tool box and those cheap socket organizer strips where the socket just squeeze metal tabs. They were terrible, I might as well not have had them. This thing holds them great! I even have a set of heavy impact sockets that are half inch drive up to 1⅛ and they stay on this thing even upside down and shaking it! But yet come off with a tug! I do wish that they sold extra clips. but oh well.

I have inherited a garage full of tools from my dad, and he has a zillion metric and US sockets all rolling around in 2 drawers of his Craftsman tool cabinet. I bought one of these to test it out, and it fit about 1/3 of the zillion sockets. It comes with extra connectors so that you can customize what sizes you want, and also depending on how big each socket is, you can add and remove as needed. I just bought two more and will be able to organize all the sockets, by both their unit of measure and then size, so that when I need a specific size, I don't have to search through the entire drawer. I highly recommend these if you are wanting to organize your socket drawer.

Bought this to organize variety of socket sets for the shop, but keep them portable. Worked like a charm. Only wish would be that the extras included additional 1/4" pieces, it includes extra 3/8" pieces and plenty of 1/2" ...

I'm a telecomm guy. All my tools need to be up in my bucket with me. Having a groundy throw me a size up or down is a no-go. This was a fantastic solution to my problem. It lays flat against the inside of my bucket on my klein bag hooks. It feels durable, without being heavy. The inserts haven't broken yet, which is a problem on most socket organizers.

So I purchased two of these trays to organize my sockets for mechanics school so that I didn't have to lug around a big craftsman box. They work fantastic! the clips are connected to a solid metal plate and the clips themselves can be adjusted in which ever order you need them to be on the tray. I made a mistake though and didn't properly count how many sockets I had in total and I also didn't account for the space that some of the bigger sockets would take up when placed on the connectors. So even though it says 80 connectors make sure you have enough connectors for each socket size as well as plenty of space to organize them all. Overall I will be purchasing more of this product in the future to further use for organization but the set up I have now will hold me over for the time being while I finish school.

I’ve been using this for a couple months now and cannot complain; especially for how much it costs. Its sturdy, holds all my sockets fine, it stays snug in my toolbox, and I don’t have to worry about sockets flying everywhere when it’s in my trunk. I’m probably going to end up buying 1-2 more for the rest of my sockets once I figure out how to organize them all.

Sturdy and does the job--although it takes a bit of prying to get the sockets lose--but you can be assured they will not fall off!!
