Some interesting points
I was very excited to obtain this book on my kindle, and eagerly started reading, as I have many questions about what the s c o b y is, and questions about making the drink. The history and health information was really interesting. But I lost some confidence in what was being written, when I read, at the beginning of Chapter 3, the comment about how if you left your brew longer, that it would result in an increasing sweetness of the drink over time. Which, in my experience is very misleading and incorrect. The author reassures the reader, that the longer you leave your drink to ferment, the sweeter it will get. I brew my own drink and know that is not correct.I have got some good points from the book, and a great link, which I am going to investigate more fully for the answers I seek. I am still unsure at what point to compost my s c o b y.Another point I have to query. It was in the directions on making a brew to produce your s c o b y. It is stated to boil the water and add the sugar, then add the tea bags. My father is an English tea drinking man, and I spent over 20 yrs of my life in that country amongst tea drinking enthusiasts, and I have always believed it important to let the tea brew in fresh boiled water alone, no sugar until after brewing. I don't know if that is a valid point at all.So, some criticism. Only because this is a subject that has brought up so many questions amongst the hoard of friends and myself who have been brewing for about a year now, with many as yet unanswered mysteries. We all just want to get it right, and do the best for the culture. Many conflicting opinions on different aspects of brewing this wonderful drink!

Kombucha
There are so many out there sometimes it is hard to make good choices, but by reading this book, I became interested in it since I really love drinking tea. This book tells where it came from, it's history, it's benefits and the step-by-step process of how to make it and the best ingredients to use. Very interesting book. A great read and I found so helpful.Definitely worth the buy. I high recommend. Great work!

Very Helpful
Traditional Asian natural drink that literally come exposed very recently. I know and I heard a lot of this healthy drink when I was young. My grandmother used to prepare something like this before and I never thought that this drink has a lot of healthy benefits. Thank you very much to this book that I had learned fascinating and interesting benefits of this drink.

I hate to seem like a negative Nancy but the book ...
I hate to seem like a negative Nancy but the book has some serious scientific flaws describing yeasts as bacteria and bacteria as yeast. They are not interchangeable organisms. The book also has a contradiction early on suggesting if you want a sweeter kombuch you ferment it longer and if you want it tarter you ferment it shorter. Later on the book it says the opposite (the truth). If you're looking for an accurate complete text on Kombucha this is not one. If you want something that has some inconsistencies but is easy to read giving you a brief overview than this might work. Also, it is a very thin book and I'm not sure if it's a great deal financially for what you get.

Great ebook!!
I've decided to give kombucha a shot. with all the health benefits I don't know why I haven't done this year's ago! the author gave detailed instructions on how to make kombucha and store the extra SCOBIES. also included some examples of teas and their flavors. I'd definitely recommend this ebook to anybody interested in trying to make your own kombucha!

Just ok
Nice to read for general information, but doesn't have reliable sources to back her claims. Need more specific information to actually make kombucha than what is offered in this book. Glad it was free when I got it.

Informative
There was a lot of information. I would like to try making the tea, but I have never been able to keep yeast alive. I would feel terrible if I made anyone sick.

Poorly written and repetitive
This seems to have been cobbled together from a variety of sources most of which you could have discovered for yourself with a quick internet search. I can overlook the typos and the appalling grammatical errors, but there are glaring contradictions and inaccuracies in the advice given - early on in the book we are told that the longer we leave the brew to ferment, the sweeter it will become! What absolute tosh! She writes the exact opposite later on. A lot of the material is paraphrased from Alick and Mari Bartholomew'sBook- Kombucha Tea For Your Health And Healing. In the author's defence, there is not really a lot to write about Kombucha brewing. It is a fairly simple process that does not require a lengthy explanation but it would help immeasurably if the author proof read the manuscript, checked that the information given was correct and cut out the waffle.

great resource
I liked the content. I would have liked to have more clarity about the PH. It is just mentioned in passing but there is no clarity about what pH should be. Also it would be nice to have some mention about quantities for molasses if one doesn't want to use sugar.
