Good value superior quality tarot.

It seems that everyone has a different opinion of what constitutes the best tarot deck, but the Golden Rider fills the bill for me.In choosing my deck, I spent many hours peering over images on the internet. In doing so, I developed my own criteria for a good deck...1) Images based on the Rider-Waite tarot, since many tarot texts are based on these.2) Simplified images and colors, so my aging eyes won't have so much trouble focusing in on the details.3) Card backs that look the same upside-down or right-side-up, so it's not obvious if the card is reversed.The Golden Rider fulfills all the criteria and gets my vote for the best of them. While some people want the traditional coloring of other Rider-Waite clones, I vastly prefer the Golden Rider because the images are easier to look at.I don't put much stake in the publisher's claim that the Golden Rider uses colors that trigger an intuitive response. For me, the reaction feels as if it's based more on my esthetic sense.I do have to say, though, that a tarot deck decision is highly personal, so my advice to anyone looking to buy is to find the deck that speaks to you most with the greatest clarity. That takes looking at a lot of decks, and perhaps discarding the preferences of other reviewers.Good luck finding the deck that works for you!

The ''Gold Standard" - Beautifully illustrated card deck. This is just about the only deck I use to do readings. The Artwork is magnificent on these. I suggest buying two of these decks. I collect many Tarot decks. This is an excellent addition to anyone's collection. The artist has done a wonderful job of painstakingly detailing and bringing to life the fabulous original 1900-1910 original Rider-Waite Tarot deck that has now become the standard. When I read to help someone, I have a rather unique approach to reading that is steeped heavily into Catholicism and Christianity. I go to an extreme by some people's standards. I also implement Holy Water from Lourdes and the Holy Rosary as I read. I know that our Guardian Angels whisper to us if we would only listen. I ask them to guide me as I help someone in a dilemma and to steer them from evil. Always remember that it is your own energy and that of your client's that bring any deck of cards to life to communicate with you as the best course of action to take in any critical situation. Ultimately, Trust in Christ. The cards are merely a guide or pathway if implemented in a divine method invoking the Lord and Blessed Mother. They are indeed, the Ultimate Guides! God Bless to All.

I have used the Rider-Waite for quite some time and wanted to try something new. After looking at many decks I found this and decided to go with it. It's my regular deck but better. The colors are more intense and often remind me of sunsets. I have a more positive feeling from many of the cards because of that. The images are all the same but deconstructed. I recommend it for those who like the standard deck but want a little more of a special feel from it.

Fundamentally, this is a reprint of your typical Rider-Waite-Smith deck, but it is embellished with gold paint. There have been other reviews criticizing the art work, but I didn't notice the differences enough to complain. I've done a few readings with this deck so far and everything felt right to me.Five stars because I truly have nothing to complain about.
