A terrible product.
Not sure where to start on this one. I think I'll just make a list: Cons: - it's just foam. You're paying $800+ for foam. It's not fiberglass, it's not PVC, but foam. - impossible to set properly. It requires a mortar bed and getting it to adhere to a 4x8 bed of mortar without any flex is near impossible. We had 4 guys standing on it and yet we still ended up with soft spots that we can't tile until we figure out what to do. I've read online that some drill holes and re-fill with mortar, some screw it down. In any case, we're not adding holes to our 'easy to install waterproof pan' which kind of negates the whole benefit. - it's not actually "tile ready". In fact, it's useless for setting tile normally. Thinset will not stick to this at all. Instead you have to use their epoxy. This is a bit of an issue when tiling the walls, as the part along the pan will have to be epoxied, but the part above it thinset. - they forgot to include the included flashing - shipping was a pain Pros: - umm...it's foam so...I guess it's easy to carry? I honestly can't think of a single other good thing about this product. We're at the point where I'm thinking of just eating the $1000+ and ripping it out and starting from scratch. This product has been a huge disappointment and put a major dent in our project budget and timeline.
