I think you could mount this outdoors and it would be ok, but I’m guessing it couldn’t not be submerged in water. You could lay down a bead of silicone adhesive to more permanently mount the edge protector.

The tape is thick and not pliable, so I doubt if it'll work on any place other than a 90 degree corner.
