The most sumptuous and satisfying recipes!
This cookbook is the absolute best! If you love food that is absolutely delicious and easy to prepare, no need to spend precious time looking online for delectable, mouthwatering recipes. Each recipe that I’ve tried is pure bliss for the palate! The recipes begin with a fun short story and some include bonus time-saving tips. Other recipes suggest pairing with some of their other recipes. Many offer options to adjust to personal preferences. I’ve easily found any new spices at the local supermarket as well.Prepare yourself; these are tantalizing and satisfying meals. The combination of spices adds depth and flavor to each dish.I’ve scoured other so-called Mediterranean style cookbooks, yet this is the only one that hits the mark for me. If you’ve been cooking for years or simply desire to try new combinations, this may be the cookbook for you! Delicious wholesome food!I started with the chickpea and pepper shakshuka dish. It was so delicious that I found myself eating and savoring every bite with my eyes closed! Then, the flavorful overnight oats with cardamom and pistachios. The zucchini fritters with cucumber yogurt sauce were also over the top sumptuous as well as the spicy avocado toast with dukkah (prepare in a snap and add it to almost anything for crunch and extra protein). I’m a fan of the wild rice mjadra with extra sautéed onions and quinoa harissa meatless meatballs. Love the grape leaves with figs and apricots too!Their numerous basic homemade condiments and sauces are super simple, versatile and each adds a depth of flavor unparalleled by anything store bought.Since acquiring this cookbook, it is now my go to source as I work my way through all of its offerings every week. I am so thankful that the authors, sisters, have shared their knowledge and love of food. Thank you so much!!

Fabulous Recipes
I purchased this cookbook after several years of subscribing to these authors' website May I Have That Recipe. I have made many of their recipes and all have been fantastic so I wanted to read their cookbook (and also support them). This is a great book with excellent instructions. I gifted one to a friend and it's also her new favorite cookbook. She made me the soup on page 88 and it was incredible. You don't have to be a vegetarian or vegan to find excellent recipes. And most of the recipes are not super complicated. Highly recommend both their book and their website.

nice book
very nice book ! I wish all the pictures had in small print the name of the exact recipe they are paired with.I'm missing some of the ingredients (like alleppo pepper) and it would be great for them to write what would be a reasonable replacement for this !

I love this cookbook!
I purchased this book about 6 months ago and never tried the recipes. Finally decided to give them a try. I love the flavors. The photos invite you in. The recipes deliver. I have yet to try many of them. My favorites so far are the crackers. Easy to make and a healthy alternative to anything that comes in a box.Thank you Vicky and Ruth for a wonderful book!

Great ideas for vegetarians
I need ideas to cook meals that will satisfy everyone and that my vegetarian daughter is willing to eat. Great ideas for recipes. The tomato soup with eggplant croutons was a huge hit. My son, who is not vegetarian, said it is the best tomato soup he has every had. I'm not allowed to buy premade tomato soup anymore! It was great for those of us who can't have dairy either (most cream of tomato soups use real cream) and made a nice simple dinner.

One of the best cook books I've seen!
High quality, very well made cook book -- from Da Capo Lifelong Books. I will keep that name in mind! The book is specifically made to be used in a kitchen environment and will outlive me! I like everything about this book. I'll be adding some new to me ingredients to my pantry -- that's for certain! I'm not even close to being vegan but felt intrigued by some of the many reviews -- I'm very glad that I chose to make the purchase! I'm not planning on going vegan either but am quite certain that I'm going to try out just about every recipe in the book! I love the photography, the layout, the back stories, the tips, the suggestions, the helpful list of ingredients and from where they can all be sourced -- no, I love everything about this cook book! Most well done!!

vegan richa
I bought this because vegan richa raves about it on the inside cover, and she's the best cook ever. I also love middle eastern food. Recipes are fairly basic and easy, but do slam in that yummy flavour.

Beautiful.
Planing to make every single recipe. Have made my own pomegranate molasses and silan (silan recipe not included). Get me! Let the lockdown cook-off begin!

Too much Gluten!
Most of the recipes use gluten in some form. I was disappointed by the use of processed foods like puff pastry (many recipes), crescent rolls and a recipe for stuffed grape leaves that calls for pre-made stuffed grape leaves! The book is beautiful but not at all suitable for celiacs and not a whole foods book, using white rice, puff pastry, all-purpose flour. I think there are a few gems in there but I didn’t try any because of my general disappointment and inability to cook with gluten.
