We are fostering a motherless 4 week old kitten and the tent playpen is perfect! It keeps him contained safely when he needs space to run around or sleep unattended. I bought the medium size and it's like a circus tent for him. The fabric seems to be a cotton poly twill blend. The bottom fabric is especially thick and sturdy with perhaps a reinforcing coating, making it easy to quickly wipe up messes. We have a very small litter box in there, so not many accidents. I put blankets in the bottom for softness that can easily be washed and replaced.Do check fo loose threads or bits that an be pulled by a kitten/puppy and Trim them. Do cut stray threads with scissors close to fabric (do NOT pull loose threads because pulling loose threads in ANY sewn item can cause a seam to apart.)The top will zipper off completely. There is one zippered door opening. I know my adult cats would love playing and sleeping in it as well with the top or door left open.This baby kitten can safely climb the walls but can't get out when left unattended. If you don't have a whole baby-proofed room that they can left alone in, or want them in the room with you without staring at them every moment, this is a lifesaver! Nice product, decently sturdy structure, low price for a roomy item. It even has little pockets for handy storage.This is a very economical item and the quality is good enough. I am very pleased with it. Great for very young puppies. It will not withstand a very persistently chewing dog or adult cat like a metal pet crate will. It is not meant to do that. The mesh is a very sturdy fabric. The seams have a black polyester piping trim to reinforce seams. The ends of that black trim will start to unravel some if pulled (by person or snimal) so check the inside of yours where it ends. If some sticks out (which will be tempting for animals to pull at) it can be trimmed a little bit with scissors but do not cut too close as that will damage the seam.A note: The zipper on ours (the ceiling top) is longer than the opening, so I leave the "tails" of the zipper sitting on top (not dangling inside with the kitten). I can sew, so this did not bother me much but others might not understand if this is routinely left long.

I got this to foster a kitten that I found inside my truck engine. Sadly her two siblings didn't make it. Drove over 10 miles and parked and heard a kitten cry. Opened my hood and there she was. 4 -5 week kitten scared to death. I tried so hard to her out but I couldn't. I decided to drive home and risk her staying there cause I was at a restaurant and couldn't get her out. Thank goodness I was able to get her out at home with some gloves and water. Pretty sad event. Anyway I called a local rescue and she asked me to foster it while she does medical and finds it a home. I found myself spending $150 between Amazon and Chewy for this darn kitten. She's a tortoise shell and never had seen a human. Wild as can be. Took only 2 days for her to love us and purr and play with her new toys..5 weeks old and took only 2 days of handling.. she had never eaten cat food but was old enough and took immediately to the can kitten food. Anyway the review for this playpen is its very nicely made, kitten approved, fit a small litter box and toys and blankets and room to run around if needed. Zippers all work very well. Fold up and unfolds and stays sturdy so far. Received overnight as we have a Amazon wherehouse like 20 min away. Like the handy carry case too. Velcro tabs to hold the door open. If cat was an adult I could see one ripping through this screen like no problem but a kitten could not get out. Easy material to wipe clean.

I found this very useful for keeping my cat contained and safe after her spay surgery. i had room for her litter box, blanket, and food and water bowls. After her recovery I kept the door unzipped and she prefers to sleep in it and is still able to roam around her Basecamp. I am also using it to introduce her to my resident cat, bringing it into the living room and taking turns with each cat spending time in the tent. It is so easy to just partially fold to fit through the door and lightweight and easy to move. Neither cat minds being confined in the tent, and seem to prefer laying on the cool plastic floor. I can't wait to use this outdoors when it is cool enough this fall. It will be very handy for travel too! I would think if it is used for a dog, it may be ripped or torn with puppy paws or teeth. For my cats, it is PERFECT.

I ordered this bc we adopted a kitten and I wanted him to have his own little “safe space” when family is over. It’s really come in handy for a few reasons! Sometimes before the sun starts to bake the land I like to put him in here and let him come outside during my coffee. It’s also been great for when we’re eating, we’re trying to break him out of hopping on the table. Surprisingly he’s taken to it and likes to just hang out in there.The ONLY issue is that it’s pretty flimsy when up. If you have a climber/ jumper, or highly active cat. Our cat is around 3 mo & will take it down with one move. Def wouldn’t leave them alone in it, but it’s good for when I’m vacuuming.It’s also my first one so I’m not sure how sturdy more expensive ones are. We needed it last minute & it had a lot of reviews for $13 so we tried it. Now we have another kitten coming today so I’m really happy to have this.
