Bought so I could add to my collection, plus complete the Build-A-Figure. Good looking figure with limited articulation due to the cape

If I had the powers of time travel like Kang, I would have gone back to the year 1964 and I would have bought a few copies of Avengers #8 and # 11 which featured Kang as the villain. Back then, I bought issues 8 and 11 together. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Kang is one of the oldest principal villains in the Marvel Universe. Next year, Kang would turn 70. Sadly, unlike other principal villains like Dr. Doom, Magneto, Doc Ock, the Green Goblin and the Super Skrull, there have been few action figures of Kang since Toy Biz began making action figures of Marvel characters. Despite his high profile in Marvel comics and cool-looking costume, Kang has been overlooked as an action figure. Hrmm, Kang should have hired a publicity manager. He deserved better and it is only now that he is getting some of the limelight. This latest action figure of Kang is based on the Ant Man and the Wasp : Quantumania movie. The costume is more elaborate that the comic book version. I would have thought that this costume was created by Jack Kirby for Avengers #8 and that the more modern-looking comic book costume in Avengers #8 is from the movie. No matter, I like the movie costume. I read bad reviews on the Ant Man 3 movie which critics called a mess with bad CGI. I went to see the movie because I am a Marvel fan and I wanted to see Kang in live-action. I was glad that I watched the movie. It wasn’t superb but I didn’t doze off. To the best of my knowledge, there has only been 4 other action figures of Kang and three of these are shown in the photographs. Photo 1 – The movie Kang. Photo 2 – Movie Kang with his predecessors: Mattel Kang (3.75 inch) from the Secret Wars line circa 1984 – probably the first ever action figure of Kang. Toy Biz Kang from the Avengers animated TV series circa 1998 and a recent Hasbro Kang which is based on the comic books. Not shown is a second Toy Biz production of Marvel Legends Kang based on the comic books. I didn't get to buy this figure.
