Very kid friendly.
My granddaughter was really excited to her this. She is 4 and was able to help with the whole set up. It’s small and she’s able to carry around anywhere her mother will let her take it. The plastic is very clear so everything inside is very visible. Easy instruction for having a tiny worm farm.

Small but I think it’s worth it
I have had this kit for a week now & the worms have doubled in size because I’ve added a little shredded paper & have been feeding them fruit scraps. You can see the tunnels they make. Grass seed sprouted fast as well

Expected
Based on reviews I expected it to be small but my daughter loves it! I wouldn’t want to take care of a huge farm anyways, this is the perfect size for my three yr old. I just wish there was a frame or stand.

Cute farm, but very small and other issues
I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my young daughter who is into all things worms, gardening, and composting. It estimated it would arrive December 5th, but it arrived a lot earlier. I think earlier shipping is always fine with the exception of live creatures. Being more than a month away, I was worried the worms wouldn't make it for the holidays. I contacted the seller right away to get tips on how to keep the worms alive and they were not helpful at all. I think I got a one or two sentence reply with no information. So I decided to do some research myself and I was able to keep them all alive without having to transfer them until the farm was opened on Christmas day. I kept them in the dark and a cool area of my house. I would take the cup out once a week to check on them. I'd water the soil a little every other week (just moist, not wet). I also set a couple carrot shavings, a torn up spinach leaf, and a broken egg shell on the top. The worms did really well. We transferred them as soon as she opened the farm. The farm itself was disappointing in size and much smaller than I was expecting. It's more like the size of holding your two hands side by side. We plan to transfer them from the farm to her vermicompost bin in a few weeks. She seems happy with the purchase, but overall I would not recommend this farm and would suggest creating your own with a little more research.

A comprehensive kit
This is a great all inclusive kit to start an earthworm farm. The container is a little small, so as they reproduce, you'll likely end up moving your worms over to a bigger container. Despite the fact that the worms are often had to see, my 9 year old has really enjoyed them!I ordered my kit in February. It was just below 40 degrees. Due to several larger snow storms my delivery was delayed. Thankfully, all the worms arrived alive and well.

Does NOT come with live worms
I did my research on several products before choosing to purchase this one and paying MORE specifically because it says it will be shipped with live worms. Instead, the family who was gifted this has to pay for worms separately. You would think at the very least it would come with free vouchers. VERY disappointing and scam. Pay for the $15 kit with no worms and spend the $7 separately on the worms, no point in paying more for this product.
